Scylla is a singing sea monster who fights as a three-piece rock band, and all three members share one health bar.
Scylla is the only boss in Hades 2 who fights you as a band, with three separate enemies feeding one shared health bar.
She is the Scourge of the Seas, the Guardian of Oceanus on the Underworld route, and a washed-up sea monster who turned her curse into a stage act. Her backing Sirens, Jetty on guitar and Roxy on drums, handle crowd control while Scylla sings.
The shared health pool is the whole trick of the fight. Damage spread across the three members all counts toward the same bar, which means area damage and effects that hit multiple targets melt this boss faster than any single-target build.
This guide covers who Scylla is, the full three-member attack list, the kill order that works, the boons and keepsakes that exploit the shared bar, and the mistakes that drag the encounter out.
Scylla and the Sirens, a three-target band with a combined 16,700 health and heavy area denial.Scylla is a legendary sea monster turned rock frontwoman, titled the Scourge of the Seas, and she serves Chronos as the Guardian who blocks the way through Oceanus.
The wiki notes she was once an oceanid nymph before Circe
cursed her into a monster out of jealousy. That curse is why she despises witches, and it is the reason she takes one look at Melinoe
and decides she hates her on sight. She is easily provoked and gets genuinely offended when Melinoe compares her to a mollusk.
Her band is billed as Scylla and the Sirens, but the Sirens are her backing vocals and she treats them as support. She works with Charybdis on a track and answers to Chronos
as her patron. Her family tree also runs straight into another Guardian, since the cyclops Polyphemus is her nephew. She is voiced by Erin Yvette as of patch v1.0.
Despite the murder ballads, Scylla warms up over repeat runs. Once you have beaten her a few times she becomes oddly friendly toward Melinoe, even while writing a diss track for your next visit. She is a full Guardian boss with real lore, not just a roadblock.
The fight is three enemies sharing one health bar: Scylla on vocals, Jetty on guitar, and Roxy on drums, and damaging any of them lowers the same boss health.
The wiki lists their individual pools as 6,550 for Scylla, 5,950 for Roxy, and 4,200 for Jetty, which add up to a combined 16,700. When one member takes enough damage in a phase, they turn impervious and drop out until the next phase. Jetty and Roxy can be killed off for good in the second phase, but Scylla always survives to the end, so the boss only dies when the total bar empties.
| Member | Role | Key attacks |
|---|---|---|
| Scylla | Vocals, slow | Sonic Scream cone, four rotating Lasers, a homing Music Orb, a mic melee thrust, and Hide (clams up to block all damage, then fires thirteen spiked orbs). |
| Jetty | Guitar, fast | Sonic Waves that stun (no damage), a Slide with a shockwave, and Red Pearls that skip around the arena. |
| Roxy | Drums, stationary | Sonic Circles that sweep the floor, an Inner ring blast around her, and an Outer zone that covers the whole arena except a safe ring at her feet. |
The second phase introduces the Featured Artist. One surviving member is promoted and gets upgraded attacks: a Featured Scylla screams farther and fires four Music Orbs at once, a Featured Jetty gains a bigger second shockwave, and a Featured Roxy adds new sweeping Sonic Circle patterns. At 10% health, Scylla also calls in hordes of Pinheads as reinforcements.
One passive matters for your damage. Scylla has Back Damage Immunity, so she blocks every hit landed on her back. You can read the full three-target breakdown on our Sirens encounter page, which splits each member out phase by phase.
Kill Roxy first, then Jetty, and play hit-and-run, because the shared health bar rewards you for thinning the band down to one target.
Roxy is the priority. She is stationary and her ground zones are slow and easy to read once you know the safe ring sits right at her feet. Taking her out early removes the attacks that cover the most floor, which makes the rest of the fight far calmer. Jetty is next; she is fast and her stun waves set up the others, so she is the second-most disruptive member.
Against Scylla herself, respect the Back Damage Immunity. Hitting her from behind does nothing, so rotate to stay on her front or side instead of circling all the way around. When she takes a breath for Sonic Scream, either sprint out of the cone or close in and orbit her. Treat the Hide move as a damage check: while she is clammed up she is invulnerable, so reposition for the thirteen spiked orbs she fires on the way out. A status effect that pressures groups helps clear the Pinheads she summons at 10%.
Bring a dash defense and movement speed into Oceanus when Scylla is next. Roxy and Jetty can also be turned against the band: the Night Bloom hex and the Sun Worshiper duo boon both let you raise them to fight for you, which the wiki flags as a clean way to flip the encounter.
The shared health bar is the exploit, so anything that spreads damage or applies a shared curse outperforms pure single-target on this fight.
Hera
is the standout pick. Her Hitch curse chains damage across cursed foes, and because all three band members feed one pool, that chained damage is doubled and tripled into the same bar. Aphrodite weakness boons are also strong here, since lowering the damage of three simultaneous attackers makes the whole stage survivable.
For keepsakes, Odysseus
and his Knuckle Bones are as useful against Scylla as they are against Hecate. The keepsake cuts a Guardian foe HP and reduces the damage you take from Guardians, which shortens the longest health bar in the early Underworld. A Selene
Hex such as Night Bloom doubles as a damage tool and a way to raise Roxy or Jetty as allies.
If you are running area Casts or splash damage, this is the fight to deploy them. A wide Cast that catches two band members at once is effectively double damage because both hits drain the same bar. Single-target builds still win, they just take longer.
Scylla is the Scourge of the Seas, a legendary sea monster who was once an oceanid nymph before Circe cursed her. In Hades 2 she is the Guardian of Oceanus and fronts a rock band called Scylla and the Sirens, with Jetty on guitar and Roxy on drums.
Kill Roxy first since she is stationary and easy to dodge, then Jetty, and play hit-and-run. All three members share one health bar, so area damage and shared-damage curses like Hera's Hitch end the fight fastest. Scylla always survives into the final phase.
The band shares a combined health pool of 16,700. The wiki lists it as 6,550 for Scylla, 5,950 for Roxy, and 4,200 for Jetty. Damaging any member lowers the same overall boss health bar.
Scylla has Back Damage Immunity, so she blocks any hit landed on her back. She also has a Hide move where she clams up and takes no damage at all. Rotate to her front or side, and wait out the Hide before attacking again.
In the second phase one surviving band member is promoted to Featured Artist and gets upgraded attacks. A Featured Scylla fires four Music Orbs and screams farther, Jetty gains a larger shockwave, and Roxy adds new Sonic Circle patterns.
Anything that spreads damage across multiple targets. Hera's Hitch curse is the best single pick because chained damage all feeds the shared bar. Aphrodite weakness boons, wide area Casts, and Odysseus's Knuckle Bones keepsake also shine here.
Yes. The wiki notes that Roxy and Jetty can be raised to fight for you using the Night Bloom hex from Selene or the Sun Worshiper duo boon. It is one of the cleanest ways to swing the encounter in your favor.
Scylla is the Guardian at the end of Oceanus on the Underworld route, fought after Hecate in Erebus. Clearing her opens the path deeper toward the Fields of Mourning and eventually Chronos.
