Steam Web API and Steam data
Rogue Ranker uses the Steam Web API, operated by Valve Corporation, to retrieve and display data about games available on Steam. This may include public game information such as screenshots, descriptions, store data, and review summaries, and (where you specifically request it) data about your Steam account, such as games you own or playtime.
End user requested retrieval. We only retrieve Steam data about a Steam end user when that end user requests it. If a feature on rogueranker.com requires us to retrieve data about your Steam account, we will tell you, before retrieval, what Steam data we will store and why.
Where we store Steam data. Any Steam data we store is stored in the United States.
Authentication and passwords. If a feature requires you to authenticate with Steam, authentication takes place through Steam’s own systems. We do not intercept or store your Steam password.
“As is” provision of Steam data. Steam data is provided to you on rogueranker.com on an “as is,” “with all faults,” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we, Valve Corporation, Steam game publishers and developers, and their suppliers make no representations, warranties, or conditions of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, title, non-infringement, or uninterrupted or error-free access. The entire risk as to satisfactory quality, performance, accuracy, and effort is with you. In no event will Valve, its suppliers, or Rogue Ranker be liable for any indirect, consequential, special, incidental, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Steam data on this site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. If you do not agree to the foregoing, your sole and exclusive remedy is to discontinue use of the Steam data features on rogueranker.com.
No endorsement or affiliation. Rogue Ranker is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or sponsored by Valve Corporation or Steam, and Steam data presented on rogueranker.com is not available from any third party. Steam, the Steam logo, the Valve logo, and related marks are trademarks of Valve Corporation.
API key, acceptable use, and limits. We keep our Steam Web API key confidential and do not share it with third parties. We do not use the Steam Web API or Steam data for unsolicited marketing communications, in any way that violates the Steam Subscriber Agreement, in any way that degrades the operation or performance of Steam or any games distributed via Steam, or in any way that gives a user an unfair competitive advantage in any multiplayer Steam game. Our use of the Steam Web API is subject to Valve’s daily call limits.
