Vampire Survivors hides 80 secret characters and unlockables across the base game and DLC. Some require you to find the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane and type spells into the Secrets menu. Others are Konami-style keyboard codes. Everything is listed below with sources verified against the official Vampire Survivors Wiki.
The Secrets menu appears on the main menu after you collect the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane relic. It has two jobs: it shows hints for how to unlock hidden characters through normal gameplay, and it gives you a text input where you can type spell codes to unlock content directly.
There is also a temporary shortcut. In the Collection screen, click the ninth relic icon with the pink background (the Yellow Sign) seven times. A tooltip saying "You are now a magician!" confirms the menu is unlocked for the current session only. The shortcut resets every time you close the game, so it is only useful until you have the relic itself.
The hints shown in the Secrets menu include internal code names for each secret. These code names are not spells and will not work if you type them into the input. Spells are a separate list. (Exception: for DLC secrets, the code name and the spell happen to be identical strings.)
This is the only relic that permanently unlocks the Secrets menu. The path to it is much shorter than most older guides suggest.
If you stay out of viewing distance of the Sketamari, it will not absorb any enemies. Run past it early in the run, level up to a reasonable strength, and then come back. That makes the fight doable on any character instead of a chase at level 1.
An on-screen keyboard is built into the Secrets menu for controller and Steam Deck players. No physical keyboard required for spells. Cheat codes (see below) are a different story.

Cheat Codes are a separate system from spells. They are typed on the main menu or during runs, use a 2-second grace time between keys (0.5 seconds for "pet"), and require a physical keyboard. Consoles and mobile cannot use these. Toastie and Smith IV have corresponding spells (tramezzini, maybeimastallion) so controller players still have access.

The Ode to Castlevania DLC adds 54 secret hints. Of these, 50 become visible only after you collect the Pile of Secrets relic, and the remaining 4 (the Megalo characters: Elizabeth, Olrox, Death, and Dracula) require the Ebony and Crimson Stones relic before they appear in the Secrets menu.
For DLC secrets, the code name shown in the menu is identical to the actual spell, so DLC players can use either method.

Both Toastie (tramezzini) and Smith IV (maybeimastallion) have dedicated spells that work on every platform. Console and mobile players do not need to replicate the Konami-style unlock chains.
Grimoire is a common name players use for the Secrets menu, because it functions like a spellbook. The in-game relic that unlocks it is the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane. There is also a separate relic called the Grim Grimoire, which unlocks Randomazzo slots and is a completely different thing. Unlock it with the spell thisshouldhavebeenunlockedbydefault.
The Yellow Sign is a relic hidden in the Hidden Ground area. Collecting it makes the Sketamari appear on the Milky Way Map, which is the gate to the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane. Without the Yellow Sign, Sketamari does not spawn. Tapping the Yellow Sign icon seven times in the Collection also temporarily unlocks the Secrets menu for the current session.
You can use spells on every console via the on-screen keyboard in the Secrets menu. You cannot use the keyboard-only cheat codes (Konami Code, spam-humbug chain, "pet") on console. However, the characters those cheat codes unlock (Mortaccio, Toastie, Smith IV) all have corresponding spells that work on every platform.
Hidden Anathema is the third Darkana (III), unlocked in the Ode to Castlevania DLC. You can unlock it by reaching it through normal play or by typing the spell ecirtarepmil in the Secrets menu. Note that Darkanas require the Ode to Castlevania DLC to be owned.
Endless Mode is unlocked per stage by completing specific challenges on that stage, most commonly reaching 31 minutes of survival and defeating the final enemy. There is no single spell that unlocks Endless across all stages. For individual map unlocks, each stage has its own spell listed above.
Banishing 80 weapons in a single run is the unlock condition for the Seal of the Banished relic. "Banish" means right-clicking (or using the banish button) on a weapon upgrade card to remove it from the pool during a run. This is one of the hardest unlocks in the game because it forces you to play with a very limited weapon selection.
