Heket Cult of the Lamb Guide

Heket, the frog Bishop of the Old Faith who rules Anura
Bishops of the Old Faith / Anura

The second Bishop, a famine-bringing frog whose four-phase fight breaks open into a miniboss summon.

Region: AnuraHealth: 150 (Normal)Phases: 4

Heket is the first Bishop who interrupts her own fight to spawn a miniboss pair, and that summon catches players who treated her like a step up from Leshy. The frog herself barely closes distance; the flies she burps and the Fly Bombs she spits do the work for her.

She is the second of the four Bishops of the Old Faith and the ruler of Anura. Per the wiki, Heket is the second youngest sibling, the famine cult leader, and the second major boss you face after Leshy.

Her fight runs four distinct phases instead of the usual two or three, and the third of them hands control to two Minibosses. That structure is what makes Anura feel longer and more punishing than Darkwood even though Heket rarely touches the Lamb directly.

This guide covers who Heket is, her Anura arena, all four phases including the Miniboss and Desperation turns, the fly-and-bomb pattern that defines her, and where she sits between Leshy and the harder Bishops.

  • The threat Heket icon A ranged frog who burps chasing flies and spits explosive Fly Bombs.
  • Where Yellow Crown icon Anura, the second Crusade region, after Darkwood.
  • The twist Crusader weapon icon A Miniboss phase. Two Minibosses appear mid-fight and must die before Heket re-engages.
  • What she is The One Who Waits icon The famine Bishop, the second sibling standing between the Lamb and The One Who Waits.

Who Heket Is

Heket is the second youngest of the four Bishops of the Old Faith and the ruler of Anura. Per the wiki she is a frog or toad, the famine cult leader, and she wears the Yellow Crown icon Yellow Crown.

Her sin is famine. According to the wiki she boasts of it directly, saying "I cast a famine upon your Cult," her retribution for the heresy the Old Faith cast out a thousand years earlier. That heresy was the Red Crown, the same crown the Lamb now wears.

She knows what the Lamb has already done. The wiki quotes her taunting you over Leshy icon Leshy: "You may have killed my brother Leshy, but you will not kill me, and you will not get close to the other Bishops of the Old Faith." She is one of the siblings who chained their brother, The One Who Waits icon The One Who Waits.

Anura Encounter

Heket waits at the end of Anura, the second Crusade region, in a single arena fought from the door inward. You reach her after Leshy, and she is a clear step up in both health and fight length.

Her health sits above Leshy and below the back half of the roster. The wiki specifies 75 on Easy, 150 on Normal, 187.5 on Hard, and 225 on Extra Hard. The four-phase structure means even that mid-tier pool takes a while to chew through because of the Miniboss interruption.

DifficultyHeket health
Easy75
Normal150
Hard187.5
Extra Hard225

Bring a weapon with reach and a Curse you can fire on the move. In practice, most of the fight is spent dodging projectiles rather than trading hits, so mobility matters more here than raw weapon damage.

Four-Phase Moveset

Heket fights at range and runs four phases: Initial, Enraged, Miniboss, and Desperation. According to the wiki she keeps three core attacks in every phase, a tongue strike, a burp of red flies that chase the Lamb, and explosive Fly Bombs, plus a hop toward the Lamb or in the Lamb's direction.

Initial Phase

She opens by lunging while shooting Fly Bombs, burping flies that home in on you, and hopping to the front or back of the room to attack with her tongue. The wiki notes that every attack except the hop-onto-you is indirect or ranged, so the opening is about reading projectile lanes rather than dodging melee.

Enraged Phase

At around 60% health, the wiki states Heket roars and speeds up. Her Fly Bomb Barrage replaces the Repeated Fly Bomb Spit, firing a ring of bombs around her. The tighter timing is the first real spike in pressure.

Miniboss Phase

This is the phase that defines the fight. Heket summons two Minibosses, and they must be defeated before she fully re-engages. Splitting your attention between the adds and Heket's lingering projectiles is the hardest moment in Anura.

Desperation Phase

Once both Minibosses fall, the wiki says Heket slams back into the middle of the room for an area-of-effect hit, then fights defensively. She loses the ability to jump to the Lamb, moves in short hops, and spits Fly Bombs from a distance near the door, "forcing the Lamb to come to them."

Build Tip

Kill the Minibosses fast, not Heket. During the Miniboss phase she is not your priority; the two adds are. Clearing them quickly ends the most dangerous stretch of the fight and drops her into the slower, defensive Desperation phase.

How to Beat Heket

Beat Heket by staying mobile, punishing her recovery, and treating the Miniboss phase as its own fight. She rarely commits to melee, so the danger is always the projectiles on screen, not the frog herself.

WeaponCrusader weapon icon A reaching melee weapon (poke between fly waves without standing still)
CurseCurse icon A mobile ranged Curse (clear chasing flies and the Minibosses at distance)
PriorityHeket icon Minibosses first (she stays disengaged until both are dead)
SpacingYellow Crown icon Keep moving (chasing flies and Fly Bomb rings punish standing still)

Per the wiki, the chasing flies follow the Lamb, so circling the arena drags them into a trail you can outrun while you focus Heket on her recovery frames. Standing to trade hits lets the flies and a Fly Bomb stack onto you at the same time.

The Desperation phase rewards aggression. After a few runs the pattern reads clearly: once Heket retreats to the door and fights defensively, push in, eat the short-hop spacing, and burn her down before she can reset the distance she wants.

Where Heket Fits Among the Bishops

Heket is the second of four Bishops and the bridge between the gentle Leshy fight and the brutal ones that follow. The wiki places her aggression "in between Kallamar and Shamura," more pushy than the squid but less relentless than the spider.

The remaining Bishops escalate sharply. Blue Crown icon Kallamar holds Anchordeep with the Blue Crown and is widely called the hardest Bishop in the game. Purple Crown icon Shamura, the eldest, rules the Silk Cradle with the Purple Crown and fights glued to your side.

Each Bishop guards a colored crown, and the Red Crown icon Red Crown the Lamb wears is the heresy they cast out. Heket also draws a clean line back to Green Crown icon Leshy, the brother she mourns. See the full Bishops of the Old Faith order for how the difficulty climbs.

Common Mistakes

  1. Focusing Heket during the Miniboss phase. The wiki notes the two Minibosses must be cleared before she re-engages. Chipping the frog while the adds chase you spreads your damage and keeps the most dangerous phase running longer.
  2. Standing still to trade hits. Her chasing flies home in on a stationary Lamb. Keep circling so the flies trail behind you while you poke her recovery, then disengage.
  3. Panicking at the Enraged roar. At 60% health her Fly Bomb Barrage rings the room. Roll through a gap rather than backing into a corner, which is where the barrage funnels you.
  4. Playing passive in Desperation. Once she retreats to the door and fights defensively, waiting lets her keep spitting bombs from range. Push in and force the close-quarters exchange she is trying to avoid.
  5. Carrying Leshy habits into Anura. Leshy never rushed you. Heket summons adds and layers projectiles, so the lazy spacing that cleared Darkwood gets you cornered here.

Heket FAQ

Who is Heket in Cult of the Lamb?

Heket is the second youngest of the four Bishops of the Old Faith and the ruler of Anura. Per the wiki she is a frog, the famine cult leader, and the second major boss in the game. She is a sibling of Leshy and of The One Who Waits, the imprisoned god the Lamb serves.

Where do I fight Heket?

At the end of Anura, the second Crusade region, after you defeat Leshy in Darkwood. The fight takes place in a single arena, and Heket spends most of it attacking from range rather than closing the distance like the later Bishops.

How much health does Heket have?

The wiki specifies 75 on Easy, 150 on Normal, 187.5 on Hard, and 225 on Extra Hard. That is more than Leshy but less than Kallamar or Shamura, and her four-phase structure stretches the fight out further than the raw number suggests.

How many phases does Heket have?

Four: Initial, Enraged, Miniboss, and Desperation. According to the wiki she enters the Enraged phase at around 60% health, then summons two Minibosses, and finally fights defensively in Desperation once both adds are defeated.

What happens in Heket's Miniboss phase?

She summons two Minibosses that must be defeated before she fully re-engages. This is the hardest stretch of the fight because you juggle the adds and Heket's lingering projectiles at once. Clear both Minibosses quickly to move her into the slower Desperation phase.

What are Heket's attacks?

Per the wiki she has three core attacks in every phase: a tongue strike, a burp of red flies that chase the Lamb, and explosive Fly Bombs, plus a hop toward the Lamb. In the Enraged phase her Fly Bomb Barrage fires a ring of bombs around her.

How do I deal with Heket's chasing flies?

Keep moving. The flies home in on the Lamb, so circling the arena drags them into a trail behind you. In actual play, a mobile ranged Curse clears the flies and the Minibosses without forcing you to stop and stand in a Fly Bomb.

Is Heket harder than Leshy?

Yes. She has more health, four phases instead of three, and a Miniboss summon that Leshy never had. The wiki rates her aggression between Kallamar and Shamura, so she is a real step up from the forgiving Darkwood boss even though she rarely melees you.
