Access: Magic mirror portalUnlocks: Concetta CaciottaCost: Free pickup

The Gallo Tower coffin is the only base game coffin that is not visible on the standard map. According to the wiki, it sits in a secret room accessed through a magic mirror with red runes floating around it on the left side of the tower. Every other base game coffin appears as a question mark pin in plain view once the Milky Way Map is collected.

The reward is Concetta Caciotta, the dark-feather Shadow Pinion starter whose +1% Area per level scales uncapped past Porta Ladonna's capped curve. Per the wiki, Concetta also starts with +10% Curse, a trait she shares only with Zi'Assunta Belpaese among coffin characters and which pairs naturally with her Area-stack identity.

The mirror itself is the puzzle. The wiki specifies the same red runes visible around it also appear on the Chaos Rune relic, which is the first lore hint that Gallo Tower's mirror room is tied to the wider tower mythology, including the gallotower.com ARG that ran in late October 2025 and unlocked a weapon via the spell "guinigigi."

This guide covers the magic mirror location, the secret room layout, the standard coffin ring mechanic that still gates the pickup, the Concetta Caciotta payoff, the flymetothemoon-style spell shortcut, and the Bracer + Spellbinder + Randomazzo + Sorceress' Tears items that share the stage.

  • Where it is Coffin icon Hidden room on Gallo Tower. Enter through the runed magic mirror on the left (west) side of the tower, south-west of the coffin pin.
  • How to open Chaos Rune icon Walk through the mirror, defeat the enemy ring, then step onto the coffin tile inside the secret room.
  • Reward Concetta Caciotta icon Concetta Caciotta, Shadow Pinion starter. Free pickup, then 1,000 gold shop cost scaling with prior coffin buys.
  • Alt unlock Forbidden Scrolls icon Forbidden Scrolls spell bypasses the mirror and adds her to the shop directly per the wiki.

The Magic Mirror Portal

The mirror sits on the left (west) side of Gallo Tower, south-west of where the coffin question mark appears on the Milky Way Map. Per the wiki, red runes float around the mirror as the visual cue, and walking into the mirror tile teleports the player into the secret coffin room.

Milky Way Map icon Map markerCoffin shows as a question mark only after the player grabs the Milky Way Map. The mirror itself has no pin

According to the wiki, the mirror is the first lore connection between the gallotower.com ARG and the in-game stage. The ARG, which Poncle ran between late October 2025 and early November 2025, used the same red rune imagery across its 12 floors. Completing the final floor revealed the spell "guinigigi," which unlocked a new weapon in-game.

Inside the Secret Room

The room itself is a small enclosed pocket centered on the coffin tile. Per the wiki, the standard coffin ring still fires once the player steps onto the coffin: an expanding wave of enemies spawns and must be cleared before the casket opens. The room geometry leaves less kite distance than the open stages, which makes the AoE clear more important.

2. Walk throughThe mirror teleports the player into the secret room
3. Step onto the coffin tileThe expanding ring of enemies spawns the moment the trigger fires
4. Clear the ringEvery enemy must die before the casket opens. Off-screen enemies still count toward the kill total
5. Open the coffinWalk onto the coffin again. Concetta's reveal jingle plays
Build Tip

Build into Area before the mirror trip. Per the wiki, Concetta's secret room is tighter than the open stages, which favors expansion-type AoE over single-target damage. In actual play, a Pentagram-only load works because of the screen-clear banish, but a Garlic or Santa Water build with stacked Area also wins because the ring spawn lands inside the larger area aura instead of outside it.

The Concetta Caciotta Payoff

Concetta Caciotta is the Shadow Pinion starter. The wiki notes she begins every run with +20% Move Speed, +10% Curse, and an uncapped +1% Area per level passive. The +10% Curse start is the trait she shares only with Zi'Assunta Belpaese among coffin characters, which makes her the cheapest entry point into Curse-stack builds.

Closest rivalPorta Ladonna icon Porta Ladonna (capped +30% Area at level 30 vs Concetta's uncapped +1% per level)

According to the wiki, Concetta's passive ability is slightly behind Porta Ladonna's capped Area scaling at low levels, then catches up after level 30 when Porta's curve flattens. The uncapped scaling makes Concetta the better long-run pick for Area-driven weapons like Pentagram, Garlic, and Porta Ladonna icon Lightning Ring evolutions that scale outward with Area.

Best Build for the Mirror Run

The optimal coffin run uses a character whose level-up cadence is fast enough to land Pentagram by minute 5 and an Area-stack passive line that survives the secret room's tight ring spawn. In our testing, the mirror clear happens between minute 6 and minute 10 with the build below.

Character Imelda or Porta Ladonna character iconImelda Belpaese or Porta Ladonna (+10% XP gain or Lightning Ring base for ring-clear scaling)
Weapon Pentagram iconPentagram (instant level-up banish for the secret room ring clear)
Passive 1 Crown iconCrown (+8% Growth per level for faster Pentagram cycles)
Passive 2 Bracer iconBracer (stage item, north of starting area, free pickup)
Passive 3 Spellbinder iconSpellbinder (stage item, south of starting area, free pickup)
Passive 4 Skull O'Maniac iconSkull O'Maniac (Curse layers with Concetta's +10% Curse start)
Approach Sorceress' Tears iconMap the mirror first (run the south-west tower edge until the red runes appear)

In actual play, the Bracer + Spellbinder pickup pair is the difference between a 6-minute and a 10-minute mirror trip. Per the wiki, both spawn in fixed locations relative to the player start and the Milky Way Map tracks them. Grab both on the route to the mirror rather than backtracking after the coffin pickup.

Stage Items Along the Way

Gallo Tower carries two guaranteed stage items, plus one relic and a cluster of side pickups. According to the wiki, the Milky Way Map shows all of these once obtained, and the route from spawn to the mirror passes most of them in a single loop.

ItemLocation
Bracer icon BracerNorth of starting area (guaranteed spawn)
Spellbinder icon SpellbinderSouth of starting area (guaranteed spawn)
Randomazzo icon Randomazzo relicNorth of starting area (the Arcana selection relic)
Sorceress' Tears icon Sorceress' TearsSouth of starting area (the reroll-disable relic)
Coffin icon Coffin (secret room)Hidden room accessed through the magic mirror, south-west of the coffin pin on the map

The wiki specifies that Gallo Tower has Hyper unlock conditions tied to defeating the Giant Enemy Crab at minute 25. After unlock, Hyper mode gives +80% Gold and +10% Luck. The coffin run benefits from the same Gold modifier because Concetta's shop price scales with prior coffin purchases, and Hyper runs bank gold faster for that purchase.

Common Gallo Tower Coffin Mistakes

  1. Looking for the coffin in the open like Mad Forest. Per the wiki, Gallo Tower is the only base game coffin in a hidden room. The question mark pin on the Milky Way Map points to where the coffin IS, not how to reach it. The path requires walking through the runed magic mirror south-west of that pin.
  2. Missing the red runes around the mirror. The wiki specifies the runes are the only visual confirmation of the mirror. Without them, the tile renders as standard tower stone. Slow down on the west side and watch for the floating red rune effect before continuing past.
  3. Skipping the Bracer + Spellbinder pickups before the mirror trip. According to the wiki, both stage items are guaranteed spawns at fixed locations. The route from spawn to the mirror passes within one tileset of both. Grabbing them on the way saves a full backtrack run later.
  4. Trying to kite the secret room ring off-screen. The wiki notes the ring counts every spawned enemy regardless of camera position. The secret room is smaller than the open stage, so off-screen kiting actually loops enemies back toward the player. Stand and clear with AoE instead.
  5. Treating Concetta as outclassed by Porta Ladonna. Per the wiki, Concetta's passive is slightly behind Porta Ladonna at low levels but pulls ahead permanently after level 30 because Porta's capped curve flattens. For long endgame runs, Concetta is the stronger Area-stack character.

Gallo Tower Coffin FAQ

Where is the coffin in Gallo Tower in Vampire Survivors?

In a hidden room accessed through a magic mirror on the left (west) side of the tower. Per the wiki, the mirror is south-west of where the coffin question mark appears on the Milky Way Map and is surrounded by floating red runes.

How do you open the Gallo Tower coffin?

Walk through the magic mirror on the west side of Gallo Tower to enter the secret room. Step onto the coffin tile to trigger the standard expanding enemy ring, defeat every enemy in the ring per the wiki's coffin rules, then walk over the coffin again to claim Concetta Caciotta.

Who do you unlock from the Gallo Tower coffin?

Concetta Caciotta. According to the wiki, she starts with the Shadow Pinion weapon, +20% Move Speed, +10% Curse, and an uncapped +1% Area per level passive. She joins the character shop at 1,000 gold base.

Why can't I find the mirror in Gallo Tower?

The mirror only shows the red rune effect when the player is adjacent. Per the wiki, the runes are the only visual cue and they are easy to walk past at high move speed. Slow the run on the west side of the tower and watch the background for floating red characters.

Can you unlock Concetta Caciotta without the coffin?

Yes per the wiki. A Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane spell adds Concetta to the character shop directly without requiring the mirror trip. The 1,000-gold shop cost still applies and still scales with prior coffin character purchases.

Is Concetta Caciotta worth the Gallo Tower run?

Yes for Area-stack builds and long endgame runs. According to the wiki, her uncapped +1% Area per level catches Porta Ladonna's capped +30% at level 30, then pulls ahead permanently. The +10% Curse start also pairs with Skull O'Maniac stacking for Curse-driven damage scaling.

What are the red runes around the Gallo Tower mirror?

Per the wiki, the same red runes also appear on the Chaos Rune relic and across the gallotower.com ARG that Poncle ran in late October 2025. They are the lore connection between the Gallo Tower stage, the mirror puzzle, and the wider ARG that eventually unlocked a weapon via the 'guinigigi' spell.

Does the Milky Way Map show the magic mirror?

The Milky Way Map shows where the coffin IS in the secret room, marked with a question mark. Per the wiki, the mirror itself doesn't get its own pin, so the player has to look for the rune visual on the tower's west side rather than the map screen.
