Bracer is the canonical Projectile Speed passive. It increases Projectile Speed by +10% per level, capping at +50% at level 5. Required for the Thousand Edge and Millionaire evolutions. Bracer is one of the more situational passives because faster projectiles benefit some weapons (King Bible, Runetracer, Bone) but actively hurt others by leaving the screen sooner.

Bracer is the canonical Projectile Speed passive item. It increases Projectile Speed by +10% per level, capping at +50% at level 5. Speed determines how fast projectiles travel across the screen, which compounds differently with each weapon depending on whether faster projectiles help (more reach, more bounces) or hurt (shorter screen time).
Bracer is a passive item in Vampire Survivors that exclusively boosts the Projectile Speed (Speed) stat, and in our experience one of the most situational passives in the game given how differently weapons interact with Speed. Per the official Vampire Survivors Wiki, Bracer was added in patch v0.1.0 as one of the original base game passives and grants +10% Speed per level with a maximum of 5 levels (+50% Speed total). It is one of the more situational passives because the value of Speed depends heavily on which weapons are in the build.
| Level | Speed Bonus |
|---|---|
| Level 1 | +10% Speed |
| Level 2 | +20% Speed |
| Level 3 | +30% Speed |
| Level 4 | +40% Speed |
| Level 5 (max) | +50% Speed |
Speed determines how fast projectiles travel across the screen. The base value is 100% Speed for new players. Stat panel PowerUps add up to +20% Speed permanently (max rank 2). Bracer adds +50% on top, and Torrona's Box adds another +25% at level 8. Combined with Pasqualina's starting +10% Speed and her +10% per 5 levels (max +30% at level 15), total Speed can exceed +130% on optimized builds.
Bracer unlocks by leveling the King Bible to level 4 in a single run. Imelda Belpaese is one option; any character that can pick King Bible from level-up rolls works. Pick King Bible on the first 4 level-ups that offer it on Mad Forest, and Bracer unlocks immediately.
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Pick any character that can pick King Bible from level-up rolls. Antonio Belpaese (default Whip starter) is the simplest option. |
| 2 | Pick any base game stage. Mad Forest is recommended because the wave pace gives steady level-ups. |
| 3 | Pick King Bible on the first level-up that offers it. Then prioritize King Bible on every subsequent level-up until level 4. |
| 4 | Bracer unlocks immediately at King Bible level 4. From this point forward, Bracer appears in level-up rolls and on stage spawns. |
King Bible reaches max level 8 normally, so getting to level 4 is half the typical max. Most players unlock Bracer passively in their first dozen runs without targeting it. The unlock persists across all future runs and characters.
Bracer is required for two evolutions plus one three-part evolution. Knife + Bracer (any level) → Thousand Edge (base game). Flash Arrow + Bracer (max) + Clover (max) → Millionaire (Tides of the Foscari DLC, three-part evolution). Gale Force + Bracer → Pneuma Tempestos (Castlevania DLC).
Thousand Edge is the base game evolution for the Knife. The evolved weapon fires extremely fast streams of knives in the character's movement direction. Thousand Edge is one of the highest-DPS base game weapons because the Knife's already-low base Cooldown compounds with the extra projectile speed.
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Base Weapon | Knife at level 8 (max) |
| Passive Item | Bracer (any level, including just level 1) |
| Trigger | Open a treasure chest after the 10-minute mark |
| Result | Knife removed; Thousand Edge added in same slot |
Millionaire is the evolved
Flash Arrow from the Tides of the Foscari DLC. This is one of the few three-part evolutions in the game, requiring both Bracer AND
Clover at maximum level alongside the max-level Flash Arrow.
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Base Weapon | Flash Arrow at level 8 (max) |
| Passive Item 1 | Bracer at level 5 (max) |
| Passive Item 2 | Clover at level 5 (max) |
| DLC | Tides of the Foscari (paid) |
Pneuma Tempestos is the evolved
Gale Force from the Ode to Castlevania DLC. Per the wiki evolution chart, this evolution requires Bracer (level not specified as max, but in line with most Castlevania DLC evolutions, full leveling is recommended). Gale Force is the starting weapon of Julia Laforeze in the Castlevania DLC, similar to other Castlevania weapon chains used in Kappa farming and Curse-stacking builds.
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Base Weapon | Gale Force at level 8 (max) |
| Passive Item | Bracer (recommended max) |
| DLC | Ode to Castlevania (paid) |
Bracer is a mixed bag. It dramatically helps King Bible, Runetracer, Bone, La Borra, Peachone/Ebony Wings, and Magic Wand. It hurts Death Spiral, Hellfire, and Carrello (which leave the screen sooner). It has no effect on Whip, Garlic, Lightning Ring, Pentagram, Song of Mana, Clock Lancet, and Laurel.
| Weapon | Why It Helps |
|---|---|
King Bible / Unholy Vespers | Faster spin reaches further from the player |
Runetracer / NO FUTURE | Bounces faster between enemies, more hits per second |
Bone | Travels further before disappearing, more bounce hits |
La Borra | Pools chase faster AND grow faster (Area effect) |
Peachone, Ebony Wings, Vandalier | Bombarding circle moves faster around the character |
Knife / Thousand Edge | Faster knives reach more enemies (canonical evolution) |
| Magic Wand / Holy Wand | Shots reach targets faster, more DPS uptime |
| Cherry Bomb | Bombs reach initial target sooner |
| Weapon | Why It Hurts |
|---|---|
| Death Spiral | Leaves the screen sooner, hits fewer targets |
| Cross / Heaven Sword | Mixed: longer reach but exits screen faster |
| Fire Wand / Hellfire | Leaves screen faster, less DPS uptime |
| Carrello | Crashes and disappears faster |
Per community testing, several weapons have no Speed mechanic and gain nothing from Bracer:
Total Speed is capped at 500% from character, PowerUp, and item modifications. Arcana bonuses are unaffected by the cap. Bracer at max provides +50% on its own. The highest single-character Speed total comes from Giovanna with all stat sources stacked, exceeding +(player level + 105)% Projectile Speed.
| Source | Speed Bonus |
|---|---|
Bracer (max level 5) | +50% |
| Speed PowerUp (max rank 2) | +20% |
| Torrona's Box (max level 8) | +25% Speed (part of Omni) |
| Omni PowerUp (max rank 5) | +10% Speed |
Pasqualina (start) | +10% Speed |
| Pasqualina (level scaling) | +10% per 5 levels (max +30% at level 15) |
| Rapid Fire pickup | +30% Speed for 10 seconds; stacks with no cap |
| Awake (IV) Arcana | +5% Speed per Revival consumed |
| Chaos in the Dark Night (V) | +1% Speed per character level |
| Golden Egg | Permanent +1% Speed chance per egg |
Per the official wiki, total Speed from character, PowerUp, and item modifications is capped at 500%. Arcana bonuses bypass this cap. The cap is generous enough that most builds never approach it through normal play, but theory-craft Speed-stacking builds (Giovanna or Pasqualina with full PowerUps and arcanas) can saturate it. If total Speed somehow goes negative, projectiles travel backwards. At 0 Speed, projectiles do not move at all.
Pasqualina (built-in Speed scaling), Imelda Belpaese (Magic Wand benefits from Speed), Antonio (Knife evolution), and Giovanna (Speed-stacking ceiling) all benefit. Avoid Bracer on Whip-focused or Garlic-focused builds since the carry weapon doesn't use Speed.
| Character | Why It Pairs |
|---|---|
Pasqualina Belpaese | +10% Speed start; +10% per 5 levels (max +30% at level 15) |
Antonio Belpaese | Knife evolution benefits from Speed; canonical Thousand Edge carrier (although Antonio starts with Whip) |
Giovanna Grana | Highest theoretical Speed ceiling per the official wiki |
| Imelda Belpaese | Magic Wand starter (see Banish 80 Weapons for related Wand achievement runs); faster shots reach targets quicker |
| Mortaccio | Bone weapon scales with Speed (further travel, more bounces) |
| Christine Davain | Operation Guns DLC; built-in Speed bonus from passive |
Once unlocked, Bracer appears as a stage pickup on Gallo Tower (original location), Moongolow, Boss Rash, and Lake Foscari. Lake Foscari is the most efficient stage for stacking Bracer because it can spawn up to 5 copies in a single run with high Luck.
| Stage | DLC Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Gallo Tower | Base game | Original spawn location; pairs with Spellbinder |
Moongolow | Base game | All standard passives spawn here |
| Boss Rash | Base game (Hyper Mode all) | Challenge stage; fastest passive collection |
Lake Foscari | Tides of the Foscari (paid) | Up to 4 additional Bracer (10% each); fastest max-level path |
The Antonio build evolves Knife into Thousand Edge using Bracer. Combine with King Bible (also benefits from Speed) for a synergistic Speed-focused weapon set. Pasqualina is a stronger alternative if available because of her Speed-scaling passive.
| Slot | Item |
|---|---|
| Weapon 1 | Knife / Thousand Edge |
| Weapon 2 | King Bible / Unholy Vespers |
| Weapon 3 | Runetracer / NO FUTURE |
| Weapon 4 | Magic Wand / Holy Wand |
| Weapon 5 | Garlic / Soul Eater |
| Weapon 6 | Laurel / Crimson Shroud |
| Passive 1 | Bracer (max) |
| Passive 2 | Spellbinder |
| Passive 3 | Empty Tome |
| Passive 4 | Spinach |
| Passive 5 | Hollow Heart |
| Passive 6 | Crown |
The Tides of the Foscari Millionaire evolution requires both Bracer AND Clover at max level. Build around Maruto Cuts for the Flash Arrow and stack Bracer plus Clover early (similar to Parm Aegis Tides of the Foscari evolutions). The two-passive evolution requirement makes this one of the more demanding Tides of the Foscari evolutions to plan, since both passives must reach level 5 before the evolution chest opens.
Pick up Bracer only when the build has at least 2 to 3 weapons that benefit from Speed. On builds with mostly Speed-incompatible weapons (Whip, Garlic, Lightning Ring, Pentagram), banish Bracer from level-up rolls to free the slot for a more useful passive.
Bracer is mandatory on these specific build paths. First, any Knife build that targets Thousand Edge needs Bracer at level 1 or higher. Second, Tides of the Foscari Millionaire builds need Bracer at max level alongside Clover at max level. Third, La Borra builds gain such a massive Area boost from Speed that Bracer becomes a top 3 priority passive. Fourth, King Bible / Unholy Vespers builds get a substantial spin radius boost from each level of Bracer.
Skip Bracer on these builds. First, Whip-only builds (Antonio focus) gain zero from Bracer. Second, Garlic and Soul Eater builds (Peppino focus) gain zero. Third, Pentagram builds (Christine Davain focus) get nothing because Pentagram has no projectile component. Fourth, Lightning Ring builds (Pasqualina with Lightning Ring focus) gain nothing because the lightning strikes are instant. Compare to Endless Mode high-cycle runs that emphasize Speed scaling. Fifth, Laurel-focused defensive builds gain nothing from the projectile speed because Laurel is a shield, not a projectile.
On most mixed builds with 6 different weapons, Bracer benefits 2 to 4 weapons and is neutral or harmful for the rest. The decision depends on whether the build leans heavily on Speed-positive carries (King Bible, Knife, La Borra) or Speed-neutral carries (Garlic, Pentagram). When in doubt, take Bracer for the evolution path and accept some weapons will not benefit from the Speed boost. The slot is rarely wasted because most builds have at least one Speed-friendly weapon. The optimal play is to identify the build's primary carry weapon during the first 5 minutes and decide on Bracer based on that single weapon's Speed interaction. If the carry benefits from Speed, take Bracer for the run. If the carry is Speed-neutral or Speed-negative, banish Bracer and reach for another passive instead.
Players new to Bracer often misuse it in these ways:
Bracer unlocks by leveling the King Bible to level 4 in a single run. Pick any character that can take King Bible from level-up rolls (most characters can). Pick any base game stage, prioritize King Bible on every level-up offer until level 4, and Bracer unlocks immediately. Most players unlock Bracer passively in their first dozen runs without targeting it.
Bracer is required for two evolutions plus one three-part evolution. Knife + Bracer (any level) evolves into Thousand Edge (base game). Flash Arrow + Bracer (max) + Clover (max) evolves into Millionaire (Tides of the Foscari DLC, three-part evolution). Gale Force + Bracer evolves into Pneuma Tempestos (Castlevania DLC).
Bracer has 5 levels. Each level adds +10% Projectile Speed. At maximum level, Bracer provides +50% Projectile Speed across all weapons that use the Speed stat. The 5-level cap is standard for most Vampire Survivors passives.
No. Bracer is one of the more situational passives. It dramatically helps King Bible, Runetracer, Bone, La Borra, Peachone/Ebony Wings/Vandalier, Knife, and Magic Wand. It actively hurts Death Spiral, Hellfire, and Carrello (which leave the screen sooner). It has no effect on Whip, Garlic, Lightning Ring, Pentagram, Song of Mana, Clock Lancet, and Laurel. Take Bracer only when the build has at least 2 to 3 weapons that benefit from Speed.
Once unlocked, Bracer spawns on Gallo Tower (original location, alongside Spellbinder), Moongolow (general passive pool), Boss Rash, and Lake Foscari. Lake Foscari is the most efficient stage for stacking Bracer because it spawns the base item plus up to 4 additional copies at 10% each.
Per the official wiki, total Projectile Speed from character, PowerUp, and item modifications is capped at 500%. Arcana bonuses bypass this cap. Bracer at max provides +50% on its own. Stacking Bracer with the Speed PowerUp, Pasqualina's character bonuses, Torrona's Box, Omni PowerUp, and arcanas can approach but rarely saturate the cap in normal play.
Speed determines how fast projectiles travel. For weapons like Death Spiral, Hellfire, and Carrello, the projectiles travel from the character outward and exit the screen. Faster projectiles spend less time on screen, which means fewer enemies are hit per cast. The trade-off makes Bracer a mixed bag rather than a universal buff.
Yes, dramatically. Per community testing, La Borra gets a massive Area bonus from Projectile Speed because Speed increases both the chase rate of the pools AND the rate at which they grow. Stacking Bracer with Pasqualina (Speed-scaling character) can produce La Borra coverage that fills the entire screen, generating extreme damage output on high-Curse Endless runs.
