Freezing mine field with Luck-scaled explosions. Ignores Speed.
Mirage Robe explosions scale on Luck, which is the rule most other weapons never touch. The wiki effects block specifies a 30% base explosion chance per projectile, climbing to 60% at max level and rising further with every Luck source. Clover and Stone Mask's Greed-Curse trade reshape the build around the explosion roll rather than the freeze.
The second buried mechanic is the freeze layer underneath the explosion roll. According to the wiki, Mirage Robe creates afterimage mirages around the character that freeze enemies on touch. Each freeze tick stacks with the explosion chance, so a non-exploding mine still locks down a screen of enemies while neighbors detonate.
Build context. Mirage Robe is a Legacy of the Moonspell DLC weapon, unlocked by surviving 15 minutes with Babi-Onna. The evolution to J'Odore gates on a single passive (Attractorb at max level), and the evolution itself unlocks McCoy-Oni as a playable character.
This guide covers the Luck-scaled explosion mechanic, the J'Odore evolution that gates on Attractorb, the McCoy-Oni unlock chain, the best Babi-Onna build, and the Mirage Robe synergy with Skull O'Maniac's Curse for denser explosion targets.

Attractorb,
Duplicator, and Luck sources for higher explosion roll.Mirage Robe creates an afterimage of the character that orbits around the player, freezing enemies on contact. The wiki effects block specifies the base mechanic: each projectile has a 30% chance to explode on hit, with the chance scaling on Luck and reaching 60% at level 8. Per the wiki, the weapon also ignores Speed entirely, so Bracer's Projectile Speed component does nothing on the mirage cycle.
Damage starts at 10 and climbs to 50 at level 8 (+40 over the level track). The Pool Limit caps at 50, which is unusually low compared to other base game weapons. According to the wiki, the cap is what keeps the mirage cloud from saturating the screen with freeze ticks past minute 15. Duration scales the time a mirage persists before vanishing.
Cooldown is 3.0 seconds base and the Projectile Interval is 0.01 seconds, which means a single proc fires the entire mirage cluster as a near-instant burst. The freeze locks enemies in place while the Luck-roll explosions hit independently, so the weapon plays as a status-application engine with damage as a secondary effect.
Stack Luck sources before Might. Per the wiki, every percentage of Luck directly raises the explosion chance above the base 30%. In actual play, a Clover plus Stone Mask\'s Greed-Curse trade can push the explosion roll well past 60%, which more than doubles the damage on the mirage cluster compared to a Might-only build.

Limit Break further scales Mirage Robe with Might, Area, Duration, and Amount increments. Per the wiki, the Luck-roll explosion chance can climb past 60% with enough Luck stacking, which is the single biggest damage scaler available to this weapon. Across multiple runs, the post-evolution J'Odore version is what makes the kit shine.
Mirage Robe evolves into J'Odore at max level with a max-level Attractorb in the inventory at minute 11 or later. The wiki specifies Attractorb as the single passive gate, which makes this one of the cleaner evolution chains in Legacy of the Moonspell. Evolving the weapon also unlocks McCoy-Oni as a playable character, which extends the unlock chain past the weapon itself.
According to the wiki, J'Odore retains the freezing mirage and the Luck-scaled explosion roll while adding faster mirage spawns and wider Area coverage. The McCoy-Oni unlock chest fires the moment the evolution proc completes, so the run does not need to continue past that point to lock in both rewards.
| Base | Passive needed | Becomes | Unlocks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mirage Robe (max level) | Attractorb (max level) | J'Odore | McCoy-Oni |
Pick Attractorb on every offered level-up screen until it reaches max. Attractorb is a low-priority passive on most other characters, so the wiki Tips section notes that runners often pass it accidentally. Skipping it for Spinach or Crown is the single most common way to brick the J\'Odore evolution and lose the McCoy-Oni unlock.
Babi-Onna's kit feeds the Mirage Robe pattern directly: she has higher base Area and a Recovery boost that lets the build tank close-range damage while the mirages freeze the wave. The build leans Attractorb first for the evolution gate, then layers Luck through Clover for the explosion roll, finishing with defensive recovery passives.
Babi-Onna (LotM lead; Recovery and Area kit bonuses)
Attractorb (evolution gate + pickup magnet; first pick, every run)
Empty Tome (Cooldown reduces mirage spawn interval)
Spinach (Might scales explosion damage)
Crown (Growth speeds the climb to max Attractorb)Across multiple runs, this build is online around minute 10 once Attractorb reaches max and the freeze cycle is locked in. Past minute 18, J'Odore with a stacked Clover and Crown pushes the explosion roll well past 60%, which carries the run through hyper Mt. Moonspell.
The wiki Tips section calls out Luck as the standout scaler for Mirage Robe because the explosion chance directly responds to Luck percentage. Clover is the easy first stack, but Stone Mask's Greed-Curse trade also adds Luck in a roundabout way through the Curse and Pickups multipliers. The mirages themselves benefit from Area scaling, so Candelabrador is a strong secondary pick.
According to the wiki, the freeze interaction stacks with other freeze sources in the game. Santa Water is the closest mechanical sibling because both create ground-effect freeze zones, and running both lets the player carpet a stage with overlapping freeze pools. Per the wiki Reddit-flagged combo discussion, the two weapons share targeting logic in a way that doubles the freeze uptime.
In real runs, Mirage Robe pairs well with Skull O'Maniac's Curse. Curse increases enemy density and HP, which gives the freeze cloud more targets to land on per cycle. The wiki specifies that Curse multipliers raise the absolute number of enemy spawns, which directly translates into more explosion rolls per second on the mirage cluster.
Mirage Robe and Santa Water are the two ground-effect weapons in Vampire Survivors that freeze enemies. Per the wiki, Santa Water drops static pools that persist on the floor while Mirage Robe creates moving mirages that orbit the player. Santa Water is the better stationary-defense pick on stages with chokepoints; Mirage Robe is the better mobile-defense pick on open stages.
Pick Mirage Robe when the run leans on Luck stacking and the player wants the mirages to follow the run direction. Pick Santa Water when the build wants pure damage over time without an explosion roll. In practice, most experienced Babi-Onna runs aim for both online by minute 14, with Mirage Robe covering mobile freeze coverage while Santa Water plants stationary pools at the choke.
