Hollow Knight Silksong Verdania

The Green Prince, last ruler of Verdania in Hollow Knight Silksong
Area / Hollow Knight: Silksong (2025)

A fallen green kingdom reduced to a desolate corridor, and the memory you can walk back into.

Act: 3Access: GreymoorReward: Conjoined Heart

Verdania is the saddest room in Silksong, a whole kingdom shrunk down to one ruined corridor where the Green Prince stands grieving over a corpse.

It was once a lush green kingdom beside Pharloom. Per the wiki, Verdania was ruled by the Green Prince and his lover and home to the Clover Dancers, until Pharloom's ruler turned on it.

The present-day area hides a second one inside it. By playing the Elegy of the Deep near the Green Prince, Hornet can step into Lost Verdania, a memory of the kingdom at its prime.

This guide covers Verdania's lore, how to reach it from Greymoor, the Lost Verdania memory and its orb puzzle, the Clover Dancers fight, and the Conjoined Heart reward.

  • What Verdania icon A ruined Act 3 area, the remains of a green kingdom.
  • Where Greymoor icon Off Greymoor, via the far-east wall of Craw Lake.
  • Secret Elegy icon Lost Verdania, entered with the Elegy of the Deep.
  • Reward Clover Dancers icon The Conjoined Heart for beating the Clover Dancers.

What Verdania Is

Verdania is an Act 3 area that was once home to the rulers of the kingdom, the Clover Dancers. According to the wiki, the present-day version is a dimly lit cave of ruined architecture, all that survives of a kingdom that used to neighbour Pharloom.

The Green Prince is the thread that ties it together. He is the last Verdanian, and he stands in the ruins above the corpse of a Cogwork Dancer, mourning. His full story sits in our Green Prince icon Green Prince guide.

What makes the area special is the memory layered over it. The ruins are the present; Lost Verdania is the past, and you can visit both.

The Kingdom's Fall

Verdania fell because of a sacrifice that did not work. The wiki states it was a lush kingdom of green ruled by the Green Prince and his lover, until the ruler of Pharloom threatened it.

To save his home, the Prince's partner gave everything. In the wiki's words, "his shell and soul became the mould" for the Cogwork Dancers, a desperate trade meant to keep Verdania's caves safe.

The trade failed. Verdania was still reduced to the tiny desolate corridor you find it as, which is why the Green Prince grieves beside a dancer's body. The mechanical Cogwork Dancers icon Cogwork Dancers that roam elsewhere in the game are modeled on that lost partner.

How to Reach It

Verdania connects to Greymoor in Act 3. Per the wiki, you reach it through a pathway on the rightmost wall of Craw Lake in the far east of Greymoor.

You also need to be progressing the Green Prince questline, since he is what reveals the deeper memory. Players usually first meet him caged on Sinner's Road icon Sinner's Road before he relocates closer to Verdania.

The present-day ruins are small. The real content opens once you play near the Green Prince and step into Lost Verdania.

Lost Verdania and the Orbs

Lost Verdania is a memory of the kingdom at its prime, opened by playing the Elegy of the Deep near the Green Prince. It plays as a platforming puzzle rather than a normal explorable zone.

The wiki specifies the memory tasks Hornet with collecting 17 glowing orbs, lighting the lost kingdom back up as you go. It is one of the more atmospheric stretches in the back half of the game.

Area Tip

Lost Verdania closes for good once the Clover Dancers fall. In actual play, sweep up every orb and any sightseeing you want before you trigger the boss, because the memory becomes inaccessible afterward.

The Clover Dancers and Reward

Lighting enough of the memory leads to the Clover Dancers, the original rulers of Verdania, as a boss fight. Beating them is the payoff for the whole area.

The reward is the Conjoined Heart. It is a meaningful pickup for a side area, which is part of why the Green Prince quest is worth chasing across Characters icon Pharloom's cast and into Verdania.

Once the Clover Dancers are down, the wiki notes Lost Verdania becomes completely inaccessible, so the boss is a true point of no return for the memory.

Common Mistakes

  1. Missing the entrance. Verdania is off the far-east wall of Craw Lake in Greymoor, easy to walk past.
  2. Skipping the Green Prince quest. His questline is what reveals the memory and the Elegy prompt.
  3. Not collecting all 17 orbs. The memory closes after the boss, so grab them first.
  4. Triggering the Clover Dancers too early. Beating them locks Lost Verdania for good.
  5. Confusing the dancers. The Clover Dancers ruled Verdania; the Cogwork Dancers are mechanical replicas of the Prince's lost partner.
