Four endings branch from one fight with Grand Mother Silk, and a fifth secret cutscene sits beyond them.
Silksong has four endings, and almost all of them branch from the same fight. Per the wiki, the choices around defeating Grand Mother Silk decide which of the first three you get, while a fourth lies deeper still.
This is a spoiler-heavy topic, so the warning is simple: if you have not finished the game, the ending breakdowns below give away the climax.
The endings range from a quick resolution to the true Void path, and one of them, Snared Silk, even continues the game into a further act rather than rolling credits.
This guide lays out all four endings plus the bonus Passing of the Age, the exact requirements for each, and which the community treats as the true ending.
Weaver Queen, beat and Bind Grand Mother Silk.
Snared Silk, entrap her with the Soul Snare; the game continues.
Twisted Child, beat her while locked into the Cursed Crest.
Sister of the Void, the deepest, Abyss-bound ending.Three of the four endings come down to how you finish the
Grand Mother Silk fight. Per the wiki, the differences are whether you Bind her, snare her, or arrive locked into a specific crest.
The fourth ending sits apart in the Abyss and is the deepest outcome. The wiki notes it respawns Hornet at the last bench in the Abyss, marking it as the true endgame.
| Ending | Key requirement |
|---|---|
| Weaver Queen | Defeat and Bind Grand Mother Silk |
| Snared Silk | Entrap her with the Soul Snare |
| Twisted Child | Beat her while locked into the Cursed Crest |
| Sister of the Void | Reach and complete the Abyss path |
Snared Silk is the one that does not end the game. In actual play, choosing it continues your save into a further act, so pick it only if you want to keep playing rather than close the story.
Weaver Queen is the baseline ending. Per the wiki, it requires defeating Grand Mother Silk and Binding her, as long as you have not taken the Snared Silk route.
It is the cleanest of the standard finishes and the one most players reach first. Hornet ends the fight by Binding her foe rather than snaring or corrupting the outcome.
The wiki notes that after this ending, loading the save respawns Hornet at her last saving point with the final boss alive again, so you can return and pursue a different ending.
Snared Silk is the branch that changes the game itself. Per the wiki, it requires defeating Grand Mother Silk and entrapping her with the Soul Snare, and it grants its own achievement.
What sets it apart is the consequence. The wiki specifies that after Snared Silk, loading the save brings Hornet to Act 3 and the game continues, Grand Mother Silk cannot be fought again, and the first three endings become impossible on that save.
That makes it a point of no return. It is less an ending and more a doorway into the game's deepest content, including the route toward Sister of the Void.
Twisted Child is the crest-locked variant. Per the wiki, it requires beating Grand Mother Silk while locked into the Cursed Crest, having completed Rite of Rebirth but not yet upgraded it into the Witch Crest.
It is the most conditional of the first three, tied directly to a specific
crest state. You also must not have taken the Snared Silk route.
The result is a darker, corrupted resolution to the fight, a reflection of the cursed path Hornet walked to reach it. Like Weaver Queen, it lets you reload and try for another outcome.
Sister of the Void is the deepest ending and the closest thing Silksong has to a true finale. Per the wiki, it plays out in the
Abyss, and after it Hornet respawns at the last bench down there.
It ties Silksong back to the Void that runs through the whole series, echoing the deepest ending of the first game. Reaching it requires pushing past the Snared Silk continuation into the endgame content.
The wiki notes it unlocks the Abyss menu style, a cosmetic marker of the most complete run. For most players this is the ending the story is truly building toward.
Passing of the Age is the returning secret cutscene, a callback to the first game. Per the wiki it is an extra ending with its own achievement, layered on top of whichever main ending you reach.
Like its Hollow Knight namesake, it rewards completing a specific hidden side activity before finishing the game. It is a bonus for thorough players rather than a separate finale.
Hunting it down is the kind of completionist goal our
other Silksong guides help you chase across Pharloom.
Sister of the Void is the one the community treats as the true ending. It is the deepest outcome, the most complete, and the one that ties Silksong into the wider Void mythology.
The other three are valid resolutions to the Grand Mother Silk fight, but they are reachable earlier and stop short of the Abyss. Snared Silk in particular is a gateway rather than a conclusion.
In practice, the canonical reading is to aim for Sister of the Void if you want the full story, and treat the others as alternate or stepping-stone finishes along the way.
The endings hinge on Grand Mother Silk and the road to the Abyss. These guides cover the bosses and journey that lead there.
