Cult of the Lamb Legendary Weapons Guide

A legendary weapon in Cult of the Lamb
Weapons / Woolhaven

Seven one-of-a-kind weapons that outclass even Godly gear, each rebuilt from a shattered shard by Rami the blacksmith.

Total: 7 weaponsRestored by: RamiSource: Woolhaven DLC

Every legendary weapon carries a special effect no ordinary weapon can roll, from a ring of lightning on a hammer slam to invincibility frames baked into a dagger combo. They are the strongest gear in Cult of the Lamb, and there are exactly seven of them.

They all come from Woolhaven. According to the wiki, each legendary weapon starts as a shattered shard hidden across the DLC, and you restore it by carrying that shard to Rami along with Wool.

What sets them apart is that they surpass even Godly weapons and can be forced to appear as a priority weapon on any crusade except Purgatory. Once restored, you can also name each one.

This guide covers all seven legendary weapons, the exact effect each one grants, where every shard hides, and which ones are worth chasing first.

  • What they are Legendary Weapon Fragment icon Seven unique weapons that beat Godly gear.
  • How to get Rami icon Find each shard, then take it to Rami with Wool.
  • Best pick Golden End icon Golden End, a sword with a flat 1.5x attack speed.
  • Skip if Woolhaven icon You have not started Woolhaven, where every shard lives.

What Legendary Weapons Are

Legendary weapons are unique upgrades that sit above the normal weapon tiers. Per the wiki, they surpass even Godly weapons, and each one is a named piece of gear tied to a specific act of violence in the game's lore.

They are locked behind the DLC. Every shard is hidden inside Woolhaven icon Woolhaven, and restoring one requires the blacksmith Rami icon Rami plus a stack of Wool.

Once rebuilt they behave like priority gear. The wiki states a restored legendary weapon can be forced to appear at any crusade save for Purgatory, and you can name it once. According to Kudaai, what makes a weapon legendary is having altered fate and divinity, usually by killing a god.

Build Tip

Legendary weapons keep the strengths and weaknesses of their base type. A legendary hammer is still slow and a legendary dagger is still short-range, so pick the one whose weapon class already fits how you play.

All 7 Legendary Weapons

There is one legendary weapon for almost every class, covering the sword, dagger, axe, hammer, gauntlets, blunderbuss, and the Woolhaven-only flail. The table below lists each one with the effect the wiki attributes to it.

WeaponTypeEffect
Scourge of Svarog icon Scourge of SvarogHammerCreates a ring of lightning when the hammer is slammed.
Golden End icon Golden EndSwordA flat 1.5x attack speed on every swing.
Defiler of the Divine icon Defiler of the DivineGauntletsThe third attack in a combo summons a lightning strike.
Fate of Plimbo the First icon Fate of Plimbo the FirstBlunderbussFires three projectiles in a single shot.
Ruins of Nirah icon Ruins of NirahDaggerYou become invincible during the fourth hit of a combo.
Lamb's Slaughter icon Lamb's SlaughterAxeA killed enemy releases a soul that damages another foe.
Yngya's Torment icon Yngya's TormentFlailShoots rotten projectiles when it is slammed.

The one gap is a legendary shield. The wiki notes there is no legendary shield because the shield weapon concept was scrapped during development.

Where Every Shard Is

Each shard has its own hiding place, and several are gated behind fights or quests rather than simple exploration. Per the wiki, here is where every shard hides.

SvarogScourge of Svarog icon A random forge zone in The Rot after rebuilding Rami's building
Golden EndGolden End icon Break a Marchosias statue at Ewefall or a Yngya statue in The Rot
DefilerDefiler of the Divine icon Behind a frozen corpse in the Fallen Temple before Marchosias
PlimboFate of Plimbo icon Fish inside the frozen fish at Pilgrim's Passage during Winter
NirahRuins of Nirah icon A Charybdis and Scylla quest chain that ends with a spare fishing rod
SlaughterLamb's Slaughter icon Kill Hagar the Executioner, or spare her twice and speak to her
TormentYngya's Torment icon Finish every Woolhaven quest board, then check Yngya's statue

Two are the most involved. The Ruins of Nirah shard runs through Charybdis icon Scylla and her brother Charybdis before you can deliver a fishing rod, and the Lamb's Slaughter shard depends on how you treat Hagar icon Hagar.

Which to Chase First

Golden End is the safest first pick because its 1.5x attack speed helps any build. A sword already has balanced range and damage, and the raw speed boost turns it into one of the most reliable weapons in the game.

Ruins of Nirah is the pick for aggressive players. Invincibility on the fourth Ruins of Nirah icon dagger hit lets you trade into attacks that would normally punish a rushdown style, which suits the dagger's fast combos.

For raw clearing power, the two ranged and heavy options stand out. The Fate of Plimbo icon blunderbuss triples its projectiles, and Scourge of Svarog turns each hammer slam into an area-of-effect lightning ring that crowds of enemies cannot avoid.

Build Tip

In practice the legendary that feels strongest depends on your Fleece and Tarot setup. Pair Golden End with damage cards like Weeping Moon, or lean Scourge of Svarog into the Golden Fleece for one-shot hammer swings on tanky bosses.

How to Restore Them

Restoration always runs through Rami. According to the wiki, you carry a recovered shard to Rami the blacksmith in Woolhaven, hand over the required Wool, and the weapon is rebuilt for permanent use.

The naming happens once. The wiki specifies that each weapon can be named a single time after it has been restored, so the default lore name is only a starting point.

After that they enter your crusade pool. A restored legendary can be summoned as a priority Weapons icon weapon on any run except Purgatory, and it pairs with Curses icon curses and Tarot Cards icon Tarot cards like any normal weapon.

Common Mistakes

  1. Expecting them outside Woolhaven. Every shard is in the DLC. Without Woolhaven there are no legendary weapons to find.
  2. Killing Hagar when you wanted the peaceful route. The Lamb's Slaughter shard comes from either killing Hagar or sparing her twice, so decide before the fight.
  3. Missing the Defiler shard. It sits before the Marchosias fight. If you run past it, the wiki notes it reappears at the top of the stairs when you return through the portal.
  4. Fishing at the wrong time. Both the Fate of Plimbo shard and the Nirah fishing-rod step only work at Pilgrim's Passage during Winter.

Legendary Weapons FAQ

How many legendary weapons are in Cult of the Lamb?

Seven. Per the wiki, there are seven legendary weapons: Scourge of Svarog, Golden End, Defiler of the Divine, Fate of Plimbo the First, Ruins of Nirah, Lamb's Slaughter, and Yngya's Torment.

How do you get legendary weapons?

You find a shattered shard and take it to Rami. According to the wiki, each legendary weapon is restored by delivering its shard to the Woolhaven blacksmith Rami along with a stack of Wool.

What is the best legendary weapon?

Golden End is the most universally strong pick. Its flat 1.5x attack speed helps every build, while Ruins of Nirah suits aggressive dagger play with its invincibility on the fourth combo hit.

Are legendary weapons better than Godly weapons?

Yes. The wiki states legendary weapons surpass even Godly weapons, and each adds a unique effect that no rolled weapon variant can provide.

Do you need Woolhaven for legendary weapons?

Yes. Every legendary weapon shard is hidden inside the Woolhaven DLC, so you cannot obtain any of them in the base game.

Can you name legendary weapons?

Once each. The wiki specifies that a restored legendary weapon can be named a single time, replacing its default lore name with whatever you choose.

Where is the Lamb's Slaughter shard?

From Hagar the Executioner. Per the wiki, you either kill Hagar at any point and take the shard from her shattered axe, or spare her twice and speak with her after she joins the cult.

Is there a legendary shield?

No. The wiki notes there is no legendary shield because the shield weapon concept was scrapped during development, so the flail is the seventh class instead.
