The four-floor lodge on the east side of City of Tears with a Hot Spring inside the door. Behind a Simple Key gate; holds Marissa, Poggy Thorax, plus the runaway Millibelle.
Getting to the Pleasure House comes down to two prereqs: reaching the east side of City of Tears, and carrying a Simple Key when you arrive. Per the wiki, "Pleasure House is located on the east side of the city and has a Hot Spring sign beside it. The door can be unlocked with a Simple Key."
The buried lede is the Hot Spring. According to the wiki, every Hot Spring in Hallownest fully restores Masks and refills Soul on contact; the Pleasure House Hot Spring sits 5 seconds from the door, the closest one to any City of Tears boss fight.
The wiki specifies four pickups across the four floors: Wanderer's Journal, a Geo Deposit on the second floor, a Rancid Egg on the fourth, and the runaway Millibelle the Thief hidden as a Bluggsac after she steals Geo from the Fog Canyon bank.
This guide covers the four-step access checklist, where to find a Simple Key first, the City of Tears east-route entry, the Hot Spring mechanics, Millibelle's Bluggsac thief recovery, the Marissa songstress lore beat, and the four-floor pickup checklist with Wanderer's Journal, Geo Deposit, and Rancid Egg.
Open City of Tears via City Crest from False Knight kill.
Buy a Simple Key from Sly in Dirtmouth (950 Geo).
Route east past the Lifeblood Core corridor to the Hot Spring sign.
Unlock the door with the Simple Key and walk in.Per the wiki, the Pleasure House is a four-floor lodge in the east half of City of Tears. The entrance carries a Hot Spring sign; inside, the Knight finds a steaming pool, a sleeping songstress named Marissa, a clerk Poggy Thorax, and the runaway banker Millibelle disguised as a Bluggsac.
According to the wiki, the Pleasure House is the only commercial lodge on the City of Tears map. Other visible buildings (Watcher's Spire, Soul Sanctum, the Tower of Love, the City Storerooms) serve military, research, or spiritual functions rather than travellers.
The wiki notes the building has no enemies inside, which is unique among locked City of Tears sub-areas. The three NPCs (Marissa, Poggy Thorax, Millibelle the Thief) are all non-hostile; players can rest at the Hot Spring without aggro risk on every visit.
Per the wiki, the Pleasure House sits inside City of Tears, which gates the entire route. The City Crest from False Knight in the Forgotten Crossroads opens the City of Tears gate beneath Fungal Wastes; this is the first gating prereq.
According to the wiki, the second prereq is a Simple Key. The Pleasure House door is locked and can only be opened with a key from the Simple Key pool (four total in the game). The door does not reset on bench rest, so the key spend is permanent on first entry.
The wiki specifies one optional prereq: Mantis Claw, for the upper-floor Rancid Egg and Bluggsac pickups. The Pleasure House has wall-jump segments on the second, third, and fourth floors that gate the top-level rewards without Claw.
Per the wiki, four Simple Keys exist in Hallownest. Any one of them opens the Pleasure House door; the most common source is Sly's shop in Dirtmouth, who sells a key for 950 Geo.
| Source | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Sly's shop, Dirtmouth | 950 Geo | Always in stock; easiest source |
| City Storerooms hidden chest | Free | Behind a breakable wall east of the Storerooms bench |
| Pale Lurker, Trial of the Fool | Free | Drops from a mini-boss in west Colosseum |
| Ancient Basin Royal Retainer corpse | Free | On a Mawlurk corpse in the Tram tunnel |
According to the wiki, Sly's 950 Geo Simple Key is the canonical first-time Pleasure House opener for most players. The three free Simple Keys usually go toward the Junk Pit Godseeker sarcophagus and the City Storerooms door, which spend keys permanently.
Per the wiki, reaching the Pleasure House starts from the central City of Tears bench (the one near Cornifer's tent). From that bench, the route runs east through the Lifeblood Core corridor, past the Lifeblood pickup chamber, and out onto the rooftop tiles.
According to the wiki, the rooftop section is the longest open stretch of map in the city. Multiple Heavy Sentries and Lance Sentries patrol the tiles; the rain graphic obscures their patrol cones. Stay close to the tile edges to minimise aggro.
The wiki specifies the Pleasure House door is the first locked door on the east stretch, before the further-east Tower of Love route. The Hot Spring sign flickers near the door at an angle; the visual cue is the cleanest navigation anchor in the east city.
Rest at the central City of Tears bench before the rooftop run. According to the wiki, the east-side rooftop has no bench until the King's Station area further east; in practice, rest+heal+recover-Soul at the central bench saves 10-15 minutes of re-traversal per Shade death.
Per the wiki, the Hot Spring inside the Pleasure House fully restores all Masks and refills Soul on contact. The Knight enters a sitting animation, the screen tinges red-orange, and the Lifeblood Mask bar replenishes too (if any temporary Masks were active).
According to the wiki, the Pleasure House Hot Spring is one of three in Hallownest. The other two are in Deepnest (near the Mantis Lords gate) and in Godhome (lower bench level). The Pleasure House spring is the closest to three major late-game bosses: Watcher Knights, the Collector, and the Lifeblood Core corridor.
The wiki notes no bench inside the Pleasure House itself. The Hot Spring heals but does not save the Knight's progress; players still need to find a bench (closest is the central City of Tears bench) to lock in a save.
Per the wiki, Millibelle the Banker is a scam NPC who runs a bank near Queen's Station in Fog Canyon. After depositing Geo, her bank disappears; she shows up next inside the Pleasure House disguised as a Bluggsac on the upper floors.
According to the wiki, killing the Bluggsac returns every Geo coin deposited plus 110% interest. The Bluggsac has standard Bluggsac HP (1 nail hit) and drops the full Geo cache as a shatter; players who leave the Pleasure House without killing her keep the Geo locked.
The wiki specifies Millibelle cannot be recovered without entering the Pleasure House. Players who skip the Simple Key door permanently lose any deposited Geo; in practice, this is the main reason to make sure the door is opened before killing the Radiance or wrapping up the run.
Per the wiki, the Pleasure House has four floors with three confirmed pickups plus the Millibelle Bluggsac. The Hot Spring sits on the ground floor; everything else requires Mantis Claw wall-jumps.
| Floor | Pickup | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1 (ground) | Hot Spring | Free heal + Soul refill on contact |
| 2 | Geo Deposit | ~80 Geo crystal, single nail break |
| 3 | Wanderer's Journal | Sells to Lemm for ~250 Geo |
| 4 | Rancid Egg + Bluggsac | Egg sells to Confessor Jiji; Bluggsac is Millibelle |
According to the wiki, the Wanderer's Journal on the third floor is one of the easier completionist pickups in the City. Relic Seeker Lemm buys every Wanderer's Journal for ~250 Geo apiece, making the full Pleasure House sweep worth roughly 400-500 Geo before counting the Bluggsac recovery.
The Pleasure House sits inside the broader City of Tears progression chain. These spokes pick up the Simple Key, Geo, and completionist threads around the lodge.
