Relics in Vampire Survivors are permanent items scattered across stages that unlock entire game systems when collected. They are not run-specific like weapons or passives; each relic stays in your Collection menu across every save slot, forever. Collecting all of them unlocks the pause-menu map, the Arcana system, Inverse Mode, Endless Mode, Limit Break, the Merchant in every stage, spell casting, character morphs at Level 80, and Adventure Mode.
This is the complete Vampire Survivors relics reference: every base game, EXTRA, and DLC relic with its location, effect, and spell shortcut where one exists. The 44+ relics are organized by unlock order so a new save knows exactly what to chase first.
A relic is a permanent, one-time pickup that stays in your Collection across every run, every character, and every save slot. Think of relics as the game's progression checkpoints: each one unlocks a mechanic, a menu, a mode, or a character morph that changes how you play every subsequent run.
Relics are visually and behaviorally similar to stage items (like weapons placed on the floor in Westwoods or Bat Country). Both are tracked by green arrows on your HUD when you enter a stage that contains one. The difference: once you collect a relic, it never appears again, and the effect is global. Collect a weapon stage item and it only applies to that run; collect a relic and it applies forever.
Every relic also has a spell shortcut in the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane Secrets menu, letting you skip the collection run entirely. We note each spell where applicable in the tables below. The catch: you need the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane relic itself before you can cast any of them, so one relic must always be earned the traditional way.
These are the 13 relics that shipped with or shortly after the game's 1.0 release in October 2022. Collecting all 13 is required to unlock Eudaimonia Machine (the hidden stage that awards Gracia's Mirror or Seventh Trumpet) and is the backbone of any new save's progression plan.

Three additional EXTRA relics (Green Eyes Vizard, Astral Stair Map, Survarocchi, and Enemahs, and Roast Chicken with a Clock in the Middle) exist for specific niche interactions. Roast Chicken speeds up gameplay globally and sits due east of The Coop; the others unlock Bat Dragon detection, the Astral Stair mini-map, and Survarot drafting in The Lycaeum.
Every DLC adds its own relics. Most are stage-specific map unlocks that parallel the Milky Way Map's function for DLC areas. The Castlevania DLC adds the most (10+ relics), most of them Gates that unlock sections of Dracula's Castle. The Emerald Disk and Joker Disk are disk-style relics purchased from Xanthia in Moongolow for 50,000 gold each.

If you are starting Vampire Survivors fresh, the order you chase relics in matters. Some unlock stages that contain other relics; some unlock menus that make the rest of the game dramatically easier to play. Here is the optimal chase order we recommend for new saves:
Every relic (with the exception of the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane itself) has a spell code that unlocks it instantly via the Secrets menu. There are three reasons to consider using them:
darkassami spell grants Darkasso immediately, which lets you work on the Darkana unlocks without running Room 1665 first. The tradeoff is achievements. Using a spell shortcut bypasses the in-stage collection achievement for that relic. Most relic achievements are worth 5 Gamerscore or a Bronze PSN trophy. If you care about 100% achievement completion, earn relics the traditional way on your primary save and save the spells for testing or secondary saves.
For a complete reference of every spell code in the game, see our Vampire Survivors spells and secrets guide.
The relics below have dedicated guide pages covering every mechanic, strategy, and unlock chain in detail. If you are stuck on one specific relic or want the full context, start with the deep dive:
As of Patch 1.14 (October 2025), there are 44+ relics: 13 base game Version 1.0 relics, 17 EXTRA relics added across patches, and 14+ DLC relics spread across the seven DLC packs. The total count continues to grow with each major update. The wiki's Relics category page is the most authoritative running count.
Grim Grimoire, due west of Inlaid Library. Inlaid Library unlocks at Level 20 in Mad Forest, so you can usually collect Grim Grimoire within the first 2-3 runs of a new save. It unlocks the pause-menu evolution tracker, which makes every subsequent run easier to plan.
Not to play the game, but yes for 100% completion. Relics like Mindbender and the DLC map relics are quality-of-life pickups with small mechanical impact. Others like Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane, Randomazzo, and Gracia's Mirror are essentially mandatory for progression because they unlock core systems.
The rarest in terms of unlock difficulty are the four Chaos relics (Malachite, Rosalia, Lazulia, Altemanna), each tied to a specific challenge stage and a Level 80 character morph trigger. The Ebony and Crimson Stones from Ode to Castlevania DLC is the deepest gated, requiring you to defeat Legion in the far southeast corner of the Castlevania stage.
No. Once collected, relics are permanent across all save slots on the same account. They cannot be removed, sold, or reset. The only exception is specific "Seal" toggles on certain relics (like Chaos Malachite) that temporarily disable their effect, which is reversible at any time.
The Milky Way Map, found far south of Dairy Plant. Collecting it permanently enables the pause-menu map in every stage, plus the Show Guides toggle that puts directional arrows on your live HUD pointing to nearby items. See our Milky Way Map guide for the full breakdown.
The Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane, dropped by the Sketamari enemy due south of The Bone Zone. Once collected, the Secrets menu appears on the main menu, and you can type in spell codes to unlock most features of the game instantly. This is the one relic that does not have a spell shortcut of its own.
Yes if you own the DLC. Most DLC relics are map unlocks that extend the Milky Way Map's function to the DLC stages. The Ode to Castlevania DLC adds the most mechanical depth with its 7 Gate relics that progressively open sections of Dracula's Castle and enable boss warp gates.
