A slow but immensely durable close-range warrior. False Son weathers punishment that would kill most survivors and hits back with enormous single-strike damage. His Growth passive turns bonus HP into power, making every health item a direct damage upgrade.
False Son has two passive effects that work together. Growth converts bonus HP into extra Lunar Spike stocks. Lunar Tampering converts those spike stocks into passive buffs - held spikes give attack speed and armor, spent spikes give movement speed and HP regen. Every HP item you pick up feeds both passives simultaneously.
Bonus HP above base level HP grants extra Lunar Spike stocks. More bonus HP means more spike stocks available and stronger Lunar Tampering buffs.
Each unused Lunar Spike gives +5% attack speed and +2.5 armor. Each spent Lunar Spike gives +5% movement speed and +2.5 HP regen. Both effects stack per spike stock.
Swing for 450% damage. Hold both primary and secondary simultaneously to charge a slam for 1000% damage.
Agile. Throw a Lunar Spike for 200% damage, applying Lunar Ruin to the target. Gain more spike stocks through Growth. Can be used while sprinting.
Fire a piercing Lunar Stake for 300% damage, applying Lunar Ruin. Gains more stocks through Growth. Counts as 2 Lunar Spikes for Lunar Tampering purposes.
Dash a short distance, generating a 200% damage explosion for every enemy hit. Two charges. Can be used mid-charge of Club of the Forsaken.
Stunning. Teleport to a target location, explode for 150% damage pulling nearby enemies. Triples Lunar Tampering passive benefits for 4 seconds. Growth increases duration.
Charge up to fire a rapidly hitting laser dealing 240% to 1400% damage over 4 seconds, then refill all Lunar Spikes. Duration increases through Growth.
Fire a piercing laser for 1250% damage, refilling 50% of Lunar Spike stocks. Stock count increases through Growth.
False Son requires the Seekers of the Storm DLC and must be unlocked by completing the Purified Freedom challenge. He is not available immediately on DLC purchase. Completing the challenge also unlocks his alternate special skill Laser Burst.
Obtain a Halcyon Seed item before the False Son boss encounter. It drops from Aurelionite during teleporter events or as a rare yellow item.
Reach the False Son boss fight in the Seekers of the Storm DLC run path.
Defeat False Son while the Halcyon Seed is in your inventory. Aurelionite will assist during the fight.
Completing this fight with the Halcyon Seed finishes the Purified Freedom challenge and permanently unlocks False Son as a playable survivor.
The Halcyon Seed can be found during normal runs at teleporter events where Aurelionite spawns. Run a tanky build with strong single-target damage since False Son is a challenging boss fight before becoming a playable survivor.
False Son's item strategy is straightforward: stack HP. Every health item directly increases his Growth level, which adds Lunar Spike stocks, which amplifies Lunar Tampering buffs. The more HP you have the more powerful everything becomes in a compounding feedback loop.
Flat HP increase that directly feeds Growth. Stack multiple early for extra Lunar Spike stocks before you find bigger HP items.
Kills permanently increase max HP. Compounds with Growth over a long run - every health item you pick up gets stronger as your HP total climbs.
Straightforward HP addition that directly boosts Growth stocks. Converts efficiently into more Lunar Spike charges.
Adds an extra Lunar Spikes charge. More spike stocks means more Lunar Tampering stacks active simultaneously.
False Son's primary and Laser of the Father both qualify as heavy single hits. Makes boss and elite fights significantly faster.
Doubles max HP at the cost of 50% movement speed. On False Son this trade is often worth it since the HP directly doubles Growth stocks and he is already slow.
Large flat HP and regen increase. Both stats help directly: HP feeds Growth, regen keeps you alive through extended melee brawls.
Doubles all healing. False Son's Lunar Tampering passive provides HP regen per spent Lunar Spike. Rejuvenation Rack makes this regeneration substantial.
Percentage HP boost that scales with level, letting Growth increase from leveling up. Strong early to unlock extra Lunar Spike stocks faster.
False Son plays as an aggressive frontline brawler who closes distance fast, stacks Lunar Ruin on targets with Lunar Spikes, then lands a charged Club slam for massive burst. His durability lets him stay in melee range where most survivors would die.
Secondary: Lunar Spikes for consistent Lunar Ruin application. Utility: Step of the Brothers for gap closing and double dash repositioning. Special: Laser of the Father for the full Lunar Spike refill on completion. Once you unlock Meridian's Will via Family Bonding, swap it in for the tripled passive window before big Club slams.
HP stacking priority: Unlike most survivors where HP is defensive, on False Son every HP item is also an offensive upgrade via Growth. Prioritize HP items in every shop even if they seem boring.
Lunar Ruin setup: Throw all your Lunar Spikes into an enemy before charging the Club slam. The stacked Lunar Ruin debuff increases incoming damage, making the slam hit substantially harder. This is your core damage rotation.
Stone Flux Pauldron trade-off: The 50% movement speed penalty sounds severe but False Son is already one of the slower survivors. The doubled HP often grants enough extra Growth levels to be worth the trade, especially early when Growth scaling matters most.
Meridian's Will timing: Activate the tripled passive window from Meridian's Will immediately before a charged Club slam. The tripled attack speed from held spikes during those 4 seconds makes your next combo window significantly faster and harder.
False Son requires the Seekers of the Storm DLC and must be unlocked by completing the Purified Freedom challenge. Defeat the False Son boss while carrying a Halcyon Seed in your inventory. This unlocks False Son as a playable survivor and unlocks his alternate special skill Laser Burst simultaneously.
False Son is one of the strongest and most beginner-friendly DLC survivors. His high base HP and armor let him absorb punishment, and his Growth passive means HP items are doubly effective. His charged Club slam deals enormous single-hit damage and his Laser of the Father melts bosses in long fights.
Growth counts any HP you have above your base level HP as bonus HP. Each threshold of bonus HP grants an additional Lunar Spike stock. Items like Bison Steak, Infusion, Titanic Knurl, and Stone Flux Pauldron all directly increase your Growth level, giving you more Lunar Spikes and stronger Lunar Tampering passive buffs.
Lunar Tampering is False Son's second passive. Each unused Lunar Spike in your stock gives +5% attack speed and +2.5 armor. Each spent Lunar Spike gives +5% movement speed and +2.5 HP regeneration per second. The buffs stack per spike, so more Growth levels means more passive stats in both modes.
Often yes. The doubled HP directly doubles your Growth level, which adds a large number of Lunar Spike stocks and significantly amplifies Lunar Tampering buffs. False Son is already slow, so the 50% movement speed reduction is less punishing than on most survivors. The trade is usually worth it, especially in the mid-game.
