A compulsive pack rat who collects Junk in combat and converts it into temporary items and powerful skill resets. Drifter is a melee survivor with a unique resource economy built around generating, managing, and spending Junk. Her ceiling is exceptionally high in both solo and co-op.
Drifter manages two separate resources: Junk (dropped in combat, spent to bypass cooldowns) and Item Scrap (from the Scrapper, grants permanent Trash to Treasure buffs). Understanding the difference is the foundation of playing her well.
Carry Item Scrap for stackable stat buffs. White Scrap grants speed, Green Scrap heals, Red Scrap boosts damage. Junk drops in combat and is spent to bypass skill cooldowns.
Bash for 170% damage. Third hit deals 350% and stuns. 40% chance to drop Junk per swing.
Throw debris for 4x100% damage plus a random bag projectile. Spend 2 Junk to bypass cooldown entirely.
Slam a Junk Cube for 400%. Hitting it launches for 400% up to 3x, then explodes for 800%. Max 4 cubes active.
Leap and bag a monster or interactable. Use again to throw. Bagged monsters are Bludgeoned and break free after 3 hits. Interactables held indefinitely.
Spin forward dealing 170% per hit with Junk drop chance, then slam for 400%. Ricochets off heavy enemies. Cancel with Primary or jump.
Consume 8 Junk to spawn 4 temporary items with an 80s timer. Timer starts only when picked up. Shareable with teammates.
Scrap a held item for a permanent Trash to Treasure buff stack for the rest of the run.
Drifter requires the Alloyed Collective DLC and must be freed through a multi-step sequence called Lost in Transit. You must own the DLC yourself - joining a friend's session does not count toward the unlock.
Reach Stage 3 of a normal run. Find and interact with an Access Node - a red glowing sea mine-shaped object placed by the Alloyed Collective.
Complete Stage 3 and go through the Encrypted Portal that appears after the teleporter event.
Complete the Conduit Canyon map.
Reach and defeat Solus Wing in Solutional Haunt. This is the hardest fight in the expansion. Drizzle difficulty is valid.
After defeating Solus Wing, do not enter the portal. Use the zip lines to reach the top area.
Collect both Prison Matrix items from the two Alloyed unit remains on separate platforms. Each pickup spawns enemies.
Enter the Vault and use the second Prison Matrix to free Drifter. She is now unlocked permanently.
The Solus Wing boss fight is the main barrier. Drizzle difficulty is completely valid for the unlock and still counts toward Lost in Transit. Once freed, Drifter is available in all future runs at all difficulty levels.
Drifter's priorities center on attack speed (more Junk generation), movement speed (survivability in melee), and burst damage amplification on her third-hit combo and Junk Cube. The Substandard Duplicator from the Alloyed Collective DLC is her single strongest item pickup.
Attack speed is Drifter's most important stat. More swings means more Junk generation, more Cleanup spam, and faster Salvage cycling.
Drifter's third-hit combo and Junk Cube both hit enemies at high HP. Crowbar makes these burst windows hit significantly harder.
Drifter operates in melee range and needs to close distance fast. Movement speed also stacks with Trash to Treasure's White Junk buff.
Grants an extra Cleanup charge so you can fire twice before cooldown starts. Drastically increases ranged output between Blunt Force swings.
Flat damage bonus to nearby enemies - exactly where Drifter lives. Pairs with Crowbar for massive melee burst windows.
Grants armor while out of combat. Drifter repositions frequently between engagements, making this reliable free damage mitigation.
Junk drop chance from Blunt Force is a random roll affected by luck. Clover dramatically increases Junk generation - a top priority on Drifter.
Extra Salvage charge means more temporary items per cycle. Effectively doubles your item economy in long fights.
