Survivors of the Void DLC required. All 14 void items are part of the SotV expansion. One player owning the DLC enables void items for the entire lobby.
Void items are a special tier added in Survivors of the Void. There are 14 void items total: 5 common, 6 uncommon, 2 legendary, and 1 boss. Each void item corrupts its counterpart on pickup - converting all existing stacks immediately. They cannot be scrapped. They are found in Void Cradles, the Void Fields, and Encrusted Key caches.
Costs 50% of your current HP to open. Drops 1 void item and spawns 0-4 Void Infestors. Most common void item source. Appears on any stage.
Complete the 9 cell events to earn Void Potential orbs. Each orb offers a choice of 3 items including void items. Accessed via the Null Portal in the Bazaar Between Time.
A void item that spawns a hidden Encrusted Cache each stage. Open the cache for 60% white/30% green/10% red void item. Corrupts Rusted Keys.
With Command active, void items appear in Command Essences alongside their non-void counterparts. Lets you deliberately pick void items each tier.
10% (+10%/stack) chance to Collapse an enemy for 400% base damage. Collapse is a stacking debuff that explodes for 400% damage when the enemy is hit while it has Collapse.
Blocks the next source of damage entirely once. Recharges in 15 seconds (-10%/stack). The block is complete - zero damage from any single hit. No proc coefficient.
Heals 2% (+2%/stack) of max HP per second while sprinting. Unlike Bustling Fungus, no standing still required - continuous healing during movement.
+7.5% attack speed (+7.5%/stack) and +7% movement speed (+7%/stack). Straightforward stacking stat item - no conditions.
Massive damage bonus while at full health that breaks on taking damage and must recharge. High risk/reward - strong on mobile survivors who avoid hits.
0.5% (+0.5%/stack) chance to instantly kill any non-boss enemy on hit. The instakill bypasses HP thresholds. Scales poorly against bosses but excellent for clearing trash at any health.
On gaining a barrier: fire a homing missile that deals 40% base damage. Pairs extremely well with Personal Shield Generator and any barrier-granting item. Fire rate scales with barrier gains.
Spawns a hidden Encrusted Cache on each stage. Opening it costs nothing and yields a void item (60% white/30% green/10% red rarity). Corrupts all Rusted Keys.
10% (+5%/stack) chance on hit to Root an enemy for 1 second (+1s/stack). Root prevents movement but not attacking. Useful for keeping enemies in place during Teleporter events.
Adds +1 (+1/stack) charge to your Special skill and reduces its cooldown by 33%. One of the strongest void items - nearly every survivor benefits from extra special skill charges.
On kill: release a void flame burst that deals damage in an area. Scales with kill frequency. Strong on fast-killing builds and in dense enemy groups.
On death: revive with 3 seconds of invulnerability. On revival: all corruptible items in your inventory are immediately corrupted into their void counterparts. A powerful save with a significant cost.
At the start of each stage: upgrade 3 (+3/stack) random Common or Uncommon items in your inventory to the next rarity tier. Compounds heavily over multiple stages. Avoid if you have items you want to keep.
Every 60 seconds (-50%/stack), spawn a random Void ally up to a maximum of 1 ally (+1/stack). Unique: corrupts ALL yellow boss items simultaneously, not just one counterpart. The most disruptive void item to pick up if you hold multiple boss items.
Unlike every other void item that targets a single counterpart, Newly Hatched Zoea converts every boss-tier item in your inventory simultaneously. Picking it up with 6 different boss items converts all 6 at once. Think carefully before opening a Void Cradle late in a run with a strong boss item collection.
| Tier | Item | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | Extra special + -33% cooldown benefits every survivor universally | |
| S | Full damage block every 15s. Equivalent to OSP on a timer | |
| S | Compounds exponentially over a long run - snowballs hard | |
| A | Consistent HP regen while moving - no conditions required | |
| A | Very strong with barrier builds. Scales with shield uptime | |
| A | Collapse is strong damage. Outscales Tri-Tip at high stacks | |
| B | Pure stat stick. Decent but not exciting | |
| B | Free void item per stage. Passive and consistent | |
| B | Kill-trigger. Strong in dense runs, weak against single targets | |
| B | Strong safety net but item corruption cost is steep | |
| C | Corrupts ALL boss items. Major loss if you hold strong yellows | |
| C | Root is situational. Chronobauble was already weak | |
| C | 0.5% instakill is fun but unreliable - wastes Glasses | |
| D | Breaks too easily. High uptime requires never being hit |
Void items are a tier of items added in the Survivors of the Void DLC. There are 14 in total. Each void item corrupts one or more existing items when picked up - all stacks of the corrupted item immediately convert into the void version. Void items cannot be scrapped and have no void scrap equivalent. They are found in Void Cradles, Void Fields, and Encrusted Key caches.
Void items come from three main sources: Void Cradles (cost 50% HP, spawn anywhere), the Void Fields hidden realm (complete cell events for Void Potential orbs), and Encrusted Key caches (the Encrusted Key void item spawns a cache each stage). With Artifact of Command active, void items also appear in Command Essences.
Yes. When you pick up a void item, all existing stacks of its corrupted counterpart(s) immediately convert into the void version. For example, picking up Needletick converts all your Tri-Tip Daggers into Needleticks. The conversion is immediate and permanent for that run. Newly Hatched Zoea is unique in that it corrupts ALL boss-tier yellow items at once.
No. Void items have no void scrap equivalent and cannot be fed into a Scrapper. They also cannot be used in 3D Printers or Cleansing Pools. The only way to convert a void item is via the Shrine of Order (which treats them as their own rarity tier) or Benthic Bloom (which can upgrade them if they are Common/Uncommon tier).
Lysate Cell is generally considered one of the strongest - adding an extra special skill charge with reduced cooldown is powerful on almost every survivor. Safer Spaces is also extremely strong as a fully-absorbing block on a 15-second timer. Benthic Bloom is a late-game powerhouse that upgrades 3 items per stage. Pluripotent Larva provides a death save but corrupts all items on use.
Newly Hatched Zoea is the boss-tier void item that corrupts ALL yellow items simultaneously. It periodically spawns a random Void ally (every 60 seconds, reduced 50% per stack) up to a maximum of 1 ally (+1 per stack). It is the only void item that replaces an entire item category rather than a single specific item.
