Risk of Rain 2 Shrines

Risk of Rain 2 has 9 shrines that can spawn across stages. Most are optional interactables that trade gold, health, or lunar coins for items, buffs, or harder encounters. Three require the Seekers of the Storm DLC. Here is every shrine, what it does, and what it costs.

Standard Shrines

Shrine of Blood
Shrine of Blood
Cost: HP (50% / 75% / 93%)|Any stage

Sacrifice HP in exchange for gold. Each use costs more health: first use 50% of current HP, second 75%, third 93%. Gold received equals half the HP lost. Tougher Times can block the damage. Fuel Array explodes if HP drops below -50% max - never use these while carrying one.

Shrine of Chance
Shrine of Chance
Cost: Gold (scales)|Any stage

Pay gold for a chance at a random item of any rarity, or equipment. Base cost $17, increases 40% per attempt. Up to 2 items per shrine. A single use is cheaper than a small chest, making it gold-efficient when lucky. Failing three times in a row completes the "Is This Bugged?" challenge.

Shrine of Combat
Shrine of Combat
Cost: Free|Any stage

Summons a wave of monsters from the current environment. Defeating them drops gold. Always spawns enemies based on difficulty when entering the stage, not when activated. Completing three on the same stage unlocks the Warmonger challenge and War Horn. Strong early-game gold source, dangerous post-loop with Malachite and Celestine elites.

Shrine of the Mountain
Shrine of the Mountain
Cost: Free|Any stage (not Stage 3)

Increases Teleporter Event difficulty by spawning additional and harder bosses. Rewards one extra item copy per player per shrine activated on top of the normal teleporter drop. All extra items are the same type. Never spawns on Stage 3 environments (Rallypoint Delta, Scorched Acres, Sulfur Pools). Stack multiple for compounding item rewards.

Shrine of the Woods
Cost: Gold ($25 base, +50% per upgrade)|Distant Roost, Scorched Acres, Siren's Call

Creates a circular healing field around the shrine. Upgradeable twice, expanding the area of effect each time. Heals all allies within range. Only spawns on three specific stages. Fully upgrading it completes the "One with the Woods" challenge, unlocking the Gnarled Woodsprite equipment.

Shrine of Order
Cost: 1 Lunar Coin|Rallypoint Delta, Commencement (guaranteed)

Costs 1 Lunar Coin. Converts all items of each rarity tier into a single randomly chosen item of that tier. Total count is preserved - 16 commons become 16 of one type. Selection is equal chance per item type, not per stack count. Scraps are valid items and can be selected. Using it completes the "Order Up" challenge.

Seekers of the Storm DLC Shrines

These shrines require the Seekers of the Storm DLC. One player owning the DLC enables them for the entire lobby.

Shrine of Shaping
Cost: Free (costs ~23% max HP)|Any stage (max 1 per stage)

Also called the Soul Shrine. Activating it takes ~23% of max HP from all alive players via Soul Cost (a Curse debuff) and grants everyone an Extra Life for the current stage. Dead players are immediately revived. One Shot Protection is disabled while Soul Cost is active. Extra Life expires at stage end if unused. Extra Life triggers before Dio's Best Friend or Pluripotent Larva.

Halcyon Shrine
Cost: Gold (drains continuously, 3 thresholds)|~95% on Stage 1; lower on later stages

Activating starts a gold-drain event. Three charge thresholds: Minimum (75g) = pick 1 of 3 items; Medium (150g) = pick 2 of 4 items; Maximum (300g) = pick 3 of 5 items with better rarity. Stopping it summons the Halcyonite boss. First completion opens a Green Portal to the SotS path. Later completions open Gold Portals to Gilded Coast for Halcyon Seeds.

Shrine of Rebirth
Shrine of RebirthSotS DLC
Cost: 1 item from your inventory|Prime Meridian only (after defeating False Son)

Found only at Prime Meridian after defeating the False Son. First interaction spawns a Destination Portal to continue your run. Second interaction lets you offer one item, ending the run. That item is stored and granted to you at the start of the next run with Artifact of Rebirth enabled. Void, Lunar, and equipment items cannot be offered.
