I Love Dying! Challenge - Die 20 Times
Die 20 times across any number of runs. This is one of the most naturally completed challenges - most players unlock it without actively trying. Deaths in any game mode count.
How It Works
Throw it - then it does the work. The doll lands and sticks to whatever it hits: ground, walls, ceilings, and even enemies directly. Once active, it fires your on-kill effects once per second for 8 seconds automatically. No further input needed.
Each tick counts as a real kill at the doll's location. All on-kill items trigger as if you killed an enemy exactly where the doll landed. Throw it into a group of enemies to maximize AoE coverage from Will-o'-the-wisp and Ceremonial Dagger.
Throw it onto an enemy for point-blank procs. The doll sticks to enemies. A doll attached to the teleporter boss triggers lava pillars and daggers directly on and around it every second.
Maximum 3 dolls active at once. If 3 dolls are already active, you cannot throw another until one expires. This cap prevents the Soulbound Catalyst infinite loop from getting out of hand.
It can drop Lunar Coins. On-kill effects occasionally drop lunar coins. The doll can activate the pressure plates on Abandoned Aqueduct - useful if you have no other way to trigger them.
Soulbound Catalyst Loop
+
The Core Build
1 Soulbound Catalyst = ~5s downtime between dolls
Soulbound Catalyst: -4s per kill
1 doll = 8 fake kills = 8 x 4s = 32s cooldown reduction
Base 45s cooldown - 32s = 13s remaining
Doll is still active for 8s, so effective downtime = ~5s
Real kills during doll period reduce further
Chain proc kills can bring downtime to 0s
3-doll cap prevents true infinite loop
Max 3 dolls stacked = burst window, then brief pause
Add Gesture of the Drowned

Gesture halves equipment CD to 22.5s and auto-fires when ready. Combined with Soulbound Catalyst, dolls fire nearly continuously with zero manual input.
Items It Triggers

Ceremonial Dagger
3 homing daggers per tick, 150% dmg each. All homing toward nearby enemies.
Per doll: 24 daggers launched total

Will-o'-the-wisp
Lava pillar in 12m radius for 350% damage. Massive AoE per tick.
Per doll: 8 lava pillars at doll location

Topaz Brooch
+15 barrier per stack on kill. Fast barrier generation without needing real kills.
Per doll: 8 x 15 = 120 barrier per doll

Bandolier
18% chance to reset ALL skill cooldowns. Can reset FMP's own CD through skill reset chains.
Per doll: Up to 8 reset chances

Infusion
+1 max HP per kill per stack. Doll generates up to 8 HP stacks every activation.
Per doll: Up to 8 max HP per doll

Resonance Disc
Charges toward firing threshold with each kill. Doll charges the disc without combat.
Per doll: Up to 8 charge ticks

Berzerker's Pauldron
4 kills in 1s triggers frenzy (+50% speed, +100% attack speed). Doll ticks count.
Per doll: 8 fake kills - frenzy triggers

Hunter's Harpoon
On kill: +125% movement speed decaying over 1s. Rapid harpoon stacks from ticks.
Per doll: 8 speed bursts stacking
Best Combo - Will-o'-the-wisp + Ceremonial Dagger + Soulbound Catalyst
Each doll tick fires 3 daggers AND a lava pillar. With 8 ticks per doll and near-continuous uptime via Soulbound Catalyst, this becomes a massive damage engine that fires continuously even between enemy encounters. Effective at clearing rooms before you even arrive.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does Forgive Me Please do in Risk of Rain 2?
Forgive Me Please is equipment with a 45-second cooldown. When activated, you throw a cursed doll that triggers all of your on-kill effect items once per second for 8 seconds - simulating 8 kills at the doll's location. It sticks to whatever surface it lands on, including enemies. Up to 3 dolls can be active at once.
How do you unlock Forgive Me Please in Risk of Rain 2?
Forgive Me Please is unlocked by completing the I Love Dying! challenge, which requires dying 20 times across any number of runs. This is one of the most naturally completed challenges in the game - most players unlock it without trying.
What items does Forgive Me Please trigger?
It triggers all on-kill effect items: Will-o'-the-wisp (lava pillar AoE), Ceremonial Dagger (3 homing daggers), Topaz Brooch (barrier), Infusion (max HP), Bandolier (cooldown reset chance), Resonance Disc (charge), Berzerker's Pauldron (frenzy stacks), Hunter's Harpoon (movement speed burst), and Old Guillotine (elite execution). It does not trigger on-hit effects.
How does Forgive Me Please work with Soulbound Catalyst?
Soulbound Catalyst reduces equipment cooldown by 4 seconds per kill. Each doll simulates 8 kills, reducing Forgive Me Please cooldown by 32 seconds over its 8-second duration. With a 45-second base cooldown, this leaves only about 13 seconds remaining - and with the doll still active for 8 seconds, the effective downtime is around 5 seconds. Real kills during the doll period reduce this further, sometimes to zero.
Why is the doll cap 3?
The 3-doll maximum exists specifically to prevent an infinite loop. Without the cap, Soulbound Catalyst reduces the cooldown so fast during a doll's active period that a new doll spawns before the previous one expires. By capping active dolls at 3, the game prevents runaway infinite doll generation. The equipment cannot be activated again until one of the three dolls is used up.
Can you throw Forgive Me Please onto enemies?
Yes. The doll sticks to whatever surface it lands on, including enemies and allies. Throwing it directly onto a boss or a cluster of enemies means all on-kill effects trigger at point-blank range, making Will-o'-the-wisp lava pillars and Ceremonial Daggers deal damage to nearby enemies immediately.
