Lunar items (blue rarity) are purchased at the Bazaar Between Time with Lunar Coins, found in Lunar Pods on stages, or occasionally rewarded in Void Fields. Every lunar item has a powerful effect paired with a meaningful drawback. Items with a See Guide button have full breakdowns.
How to get Lunar Coins: They drop randomly from enemies at roughly 0.5% per kill and persist between runs. Lunar Pods on each stage cost 1 coin. The Bazaar between Time (take the blue portal after a teleporter event) sells 3 items at 2 coins each. There is also a Cleansing Pool at the Bazaar and on most stages that lets you trade one lunar item for a Pearl or Irradiant Pearl.
No effect. Obelisk obliteration sends you to a bonus hidden area instead of ending the run.
Collecting all four Heresy items transforms you into the Heretic. Each piece works independently - you do not need all four. Visions replaces Primary, Hooks replaces Secondary, Strides replaces Utility, Essence replaces Special. The Heretic has the highest base stats in the game but must use self-damage mechanics to maximize Ruin's detonation.
Replaces Utility with Shadowfade. Invulnerable dash + heal on exit.
Essence of Heresy
Replaces Special with Ruin. Stack debuffs on enemies, then detonate for massive damage.
Lunar Item Rules
Every lunar item has a catch. Shaped Glass doubles damage but halves HP. Transcendence gives massive shields but leaves 1 HP. Purity reduces all cooldowns but makes every luck roll unfavorable. The power is real. The downside is also real. Build around the drawback, not just the upside.
Cleansing Pool removes lunar items. Found at the Bazaar and on most stages. Costs one lunar item and returns a Pearl or Irradiant Pearl. Use it to clear lunars that do not fit the run, or to remove accidental Heresy items before they lock out your original skills.
The Heresy set replaces skills one at a time. Visions replaces Primary. Hooks replaces Secondary. Strides replaces Utility. Essence replaces Special. All four pieces together make you the Heretic - highest base stats in the game with a self-damage detonation mechanic. Each piece is fully usable without the others.
Beads of Fealty is the only lunar with no drawback. It does nothing on its own. Its only effect is changing the Obelisk obliteration outcome - instead of ending the run, you travel to a hidden bonus area. Pick it up if you want to see that ending.
