Risk of Rain 2 has 22 named bosses across base game and three DLC expansions. Teleporter bosses gate every stage. Special and optional bosses guard rare rewards. Final bosses define each DLC's ending. This page covers every boss with stats, locations, boss item drops, quick tips, and full guide links where we have them.
Every boss in the game. Filter by type. Bosses with a Full Guide button have detailed stat pages with attack breakdowns and survivor matchups.
Shoot flying beetles immediately. Stay away from her front to avoid Acid Shot. Fairly forgiving early boss.
Burst to 40-45% HP then bait its high-stance phase to avoid Life-Drain. Do not stand near tethered enemies.
Kill every Lemurian it summons to cut off its healing. On-kill items chain through the wisp spawns.
Stay at medium range. Teleport has a 9s cooldown - use the window. Decimate has a bigger hitbox than it looks.
Dodge perpendicular to its path. Cannot be knocked back. Long range items are safest.
Highest HP of any teleporter boss by far. Treat it like Magma Worm - dodge perpendicular. Shrine of Mountain can summon this instead of weaker bosses.
Full Guide →High damage but predictable. Laser leads your position. Burst it hard while dodging the laser beam.
Dodge during the charge wind-up. Homing orbs are avoidable with constant movement. Genesis Supernova is very dangerous.
Shoot down Solus Probes before they stack up. 3-circle AoE special when below 50% HP.
Gasoline/Will-o'-the-wisp chain through the Alpha Constructs it spawns. Stay ranged and dodge the laser arrays.
Run far on death - the void implosion has massive radius and is instantly lethal. Collapse AoE below 50% HP.
Destroy 6 Alloy Vulture eggs to summon it. Guarantees a Legendary drop on death. Higher armor than Solus Control Unit.
Expose debuff makes him take more damage when hit. Dash attacks and eye lasers. Found in Shattered Abodes.
Slow and slow-attacking but has your item loadout. Gains items mid-fight via Take Item. Lethal on higher loops.
Triggered by Gold Portal from any stage. Halcyon Seed item summons a scaled ally Aurelionite during teleporter events.
Splits into 2 Geeps on death, then 4 Gips. Kill at range so splits don't corner you. Easiest DLC boss.
Solar Flare is the big one. Stay mobile during the hold phases. Stationary - safe to DPS at range.
Full Guide →Needs Beads of Fealty at Obelisk. Killing on Monsoon = Mastery skin for your survivor. All 4 variants share the same attacks but different item loadouts.
4-phase fight. Steals all items in Phase 3. Adaptive armor. The definitive RoR2 challenge.
Full Guide →Nullifier Black Hole ignores all invulnerability. Phase 3 Void Fog bubble forces close-range. Unlocks Void Fiend.
Full Guide →1,000 armor until Memory Modules destroyed. 4 phases. Unlocks Drifter.
True hidden AC final boss. Accept or reject the offering for different skin unlocks.
Full Guide →Understanding these systems will change how you approach every teleporter event.
Activate the Teleporter to begin the event. One boss spawns immediately, chosen from the stage-specific pool. The boss must die before the Teleporter finishes charging. After roughly 15 minutes into a run, bosses also begin spawning in the open world as regular enemies.
Doubles the credits available to the boss director per activation - meaning harder or more numerous bosses. In return, the Teleporter drops 100% more items. Each extra item also has a chance to be a boss item. Stack Shrines early when boss credits are low and the risk-to-reward ratio is in your favor.
Every boss gains HP and damage per level, which increases continuously with time. Playing slowly is a direct threat. After looping (clearing Stage 5 and restarting), bosses are significantly stronger and gain additional attack patterns at lower HP thresholds. Monsoon accelerates this rate faster than Drizzle.
Mithrix, Voidling, and Solus Wing all have Adaptive Armor. Each hit grants temporary armor equal to 30 per 1% of max HP dealt, capping at 400 and decaying at 40 per second. Sustained consistent fire beats burst DPS every time against these bosses. Symbiotic Scorpion permanently reduces armor per hit.
Each boss has a small chance to drop its unique yellow boss item when it is the Teleporter Boss. Shrine of the Mountain increases the number of items dropped, giving more rolls. Trophy Hunter's Tricorn (SotV DLC) instantly kills any boss and guarantees its item. Yellow Item Scrap can be used in Overgrown 3D Printers.
Any boss has a 3% chance to drop its Monster Log if you have not yet collected it. This chance is affected by 57 Leaf Clover (increases chance) and Purity (decreases chance). Voidling only drops its log during the final phase. Twisted Scavengers have no logbook entry.
Teleporter bosses are drawn from a stage-specific pool, not randomly from all bosses. The table below shows the possible pool per stage group. On higher loops and Monsoon difficulty, more powerful variants and multiple simultaneous bosses become common.
| Stage | Environments | Possible Bosses | Content |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stage 1 | Distant Roost, Titanic Plains, Verdant Falls | Beetle Queen, Stone Titan | Base Game |
| Stage 2 | Wetland Aspect, Abandoned Aqueduct, Aphelian Sanctuary, Siphoned Forest | Beetle Queen, Clay Dunestrider, Overloading Worm, Magma Worm | Base Game |
| Stage 3 | Rallying Point Delta, Scorched Acres, Sulfur Pools, Verdant Falls, Iron Alluvium | Grovetender, Imp Overlord, Xi Construct, Void Devastator, Gup | Base Game |
| Stage 4 | Abyssal Depths, Siren's Call, Sundered Grove, Repurposed Crater | Imp Overlord, Solus Control Unit, Alloy Worship Unit, False Son (Boss) | Base Game |
| Stage 5 | Sky Meadow, Helminth Hatchery, Solutional Haunt | Grandparent, Solus Wing (AC) | Base Game |
| Final Stage | Commencement, The Planetarium | Mithrix (Base), Voidling (SotV) | Base Game |
| Hidden Realms | Gilded Coast, A Moment Whole, Neural Sanctum | Aurelionite, Twisted Scavenger, Solus Heart (AC) | Base Game |
Based on mechanical complexity, damage potential, and what happens when things go wrong. Difficulty increases significantly on Monsoon and in post-loop runs.
Each boss has a small chance to drop its yellow boss item when it serves as the Teleporter Boss. Shrine of the Mountain gives more item drop rolls. Trophy Hunter's Tricorn (SotV DLC) guarantees the boss item on kill and is consumed on use.

Risk of Rain 2 has 22 named bosses across base game and all DLC content as of the Alloyed Collective expansion. This includes 12 teleporter bosses, 5 special/optional bosses, 4 final bosses, and 1 hidden final boss. The total grows with each DLC release.
Solus Wing from the Alloyed Collective DLC has the highest mechanical skill demand: 1,000 base armor that requires destroying Memory Module weak points, four escalating attack phases, Heat Vents and laser grids in the late phase. Voidling's Nullifier Black Hole is the single most lethal individual attack in the game since it ignores all invulnerability.
Defeating the Teleporter Boss drops one Uncommon (green) item per player. If the boss has a yellow boss item, each item drop has a small chance to be the boss item instead. Shrine of the Mountain gives more item drops. Trophy Hunter's Tricorn guarantees the boss item on kill. Some bosses (Aurelionite, Twisted Scavenger) don't follow the standard drop rules.
The standard final boss is Mithrix at Commencement. The Survivors of the Void DLC adds Voidling at The Planetarium as an alternate. The Alloyed Collective DLC adds Solus Wing as its final boss, with Solus Heart as a secret hidden final boss accessed after defeating Solus Wing.
Multiple bosses spawn because of time pressure or Shrine of the Mountain activations. After around 15 minutes elapsed in a run, the boss director has more credits to spend, which can mean multiple bosses or harder elite bosses. Each Shrine of the Mountain doubles the director's credits per activation, increasing both difficulty and loot.
Yellow boss items drop from Teleporter Bosses with a small random chance, replacing one of the standard item drops. Activating Shrines of the Mountain increases the number of drops, giving more chances. Trophy Hunter's Tricorn (SotV DLC) instantly kills any capable boss and guarantees its boss item. Yellow Item Scrap from Scrappers can also be used in Overgrown 3D Printers.
