A long-range, single-target survivor built around guaranteed critical strikes on enemy weak points. Railgunner converts all crit chance into crit damage via her passive, making crit items dramatically more effective than on any other survivor. Her ceiling is among the highest in the game - a Supercharge with perfect reload and a weak point hit can delete teleporter bosses in a single shot.
Railgunner's kit has one central mechanic: scope in, hit the glowing weak point, activate the perfect reload. Every other ability in her kit either sets up or extends that loop. M99 is your primary damage tool. Supercharge is your boss-killer. Concussion Device is your mobility and space-making tool.
All Critical Strike Chance is converted into Critical Strike Damage at 1% crit damage per 1% crit chance. Railgunner cannot critically strike by normal means - only by hitting enemy Weak Points. Crit chance items have no damage roll benefit outside of this conversion.
Fire aggressive tracking rounds dealing 100% damage each. Fires 4 times per second at base attack speed. Cannot hit weak points. Has recoil that increases with attack speed, which can be used for mobility.
Activate long-range scope, highlighting Weak Points. Fires one 1000% damage piercing railgun shot. After firing, an Active Reload bar appears - hit it perfectly to add +500% damage to the next shot and fire faster. Piercing falloff: each enemy pierced halves damage to the next.
Activate short-range scope, highlighting Weak Points. Fires 400% damage railgun shots at 2 shots per second. No Active Reload required. No piercing falloff. Consistent sustained damage without reload mechanics.
Throw out a concussion device that knocks back you and nearby enemies. Proc coefficient 0 - cannot proc on-hit effects or deal kills directly. Two charges. Doubles as a mobility tool.
Throw out a device that slows all nearby enemies and their projectiles. Effect lasts 12 seconds.
After a short windup, fire a piercing round for 4000% damage. Hitting a weak point multiplies crit damage by 1.5. After firing, all weapons are disabled for 5 seconds. Proc coefficient 3 - highest in the game. Active Reload bonus applies if M99 was active.
Freezing. After a short windup, fire a piercing freezing round for 2000% damage. Does NOT disable weapons after firing. Proc coefficient 1.5. Frozen enemies below 30% HP are executed by any follow-up damage.
Railgunner is available immediately upon purchasing the Survivors of the Void DLC. No challenge is required to play her. Three challenges unlock alternate loadout options.
Marksman challenge: hit 30 consecutive M99 shots on weak points without missing a single one. Take your time on large, slow enemies.
Annihilator challenge: deal 1,000,000 damage in a single shot. Use Supercharge with Shaped Glass and Crowbar stacks on a boss at full HP.
Trickshot challenge: hit 3 or more enemies with a single Cryocharge shot. Use a Primordial Cube to group enemies together before firing.
Railgunner's item strategy centers on crit damage and single-hit damage amplifiers. Lens-Maker's Glasses and Laser Scope are her two best items - both convert directly into crit damage via Magnetic Accelerator. Kjaro's and Runald's Bands proc on every M99 shot, Supercharge, and active reload shot. Soldier's Syringe improves both active reload timing and Supercharge windup speed.
Each stack adds +10% crit chance, which via Magnetic Accelerator converts to +10% crit damage. At 10 stacks: +100% crit damage bonus on every weak point hit. Stacks directly with Laser Scope for enormous multipliers.
75% bonus damage to enemies above 90% HP. Railgunner opens every fight by targeting fresh enemies, making Crowbar consistently active. Stacks multiplicatively with crit damage for enormous opening shots.
Hits above 400% trigger a flame tornado. Every M99 shot (1000%), Supercharge (4000%), and Active Reload shot exceeds the threshold easily. Procs on bosses for persistent AoE burn alongside the sniper's single-target burst.
Hits above 400% trigger an ice blast and 80% slow. Pairs with Kjaro's Band on every high-damage hit. The slow is valuable on Railgunner who struggles with fast-moving close-range enemies.
Attack speed widens the Active Reload perfect window and reduces charge time on Supercharge. Also speeds up Concussion Device recharge, giving more frequent mobility tools.
Adds an extra M99 Sniper shot before reload. Fire twice before reloading - note the Active Reload +500% bonus only applies to the first shot. Useful as a safety net but not essential if you can reliably perfect-reload.
Weak point hits trigger crit, which triggers Predatory Instincts' attack speed buff. Attack speed speeds up Active Reload timing and Supercharge windup. Stacks up to 3 times from consecutive weak point hits.
+100% crit damage with no conditions. Combined with Magnetic Accelerator's conversion, Laser Scope is a flat doubling of all crit damage from weak point hits, stacking with Lens-Maker's Glasses.
Rerolls random effects for favorable outcomes. Increases Kjaro's and Runald's Band proc frequency on high-damage hits, and improves AtG Missile proc rate on XQR Smart Round System shots.
Railgunner's loop against every significant enemy: scope in with M99, aim at the glowing weak point, fire, hit the Active Reload perfect window, fire again for the +500% boosted shot. For bosses, activate Supercharge first and hit the weak point with the charged shot for maximum burst. Use Concussion Device proactively to create distance from close-range threats.
Secondary: M99 Sniper for maximum burst and active reload synergy. Switch to HH44 if you prefer sustained fire without reload pressure. Utility: Concussion Device - keep default, two charges beats one from Polar Field Device. Special: Supercharge for bosses. Switch to Cryocharge if the weapon lockout becomes a problem or you want a safer option.
Perfect reload practice: The active reload window scales with attack speed. A few Soldier's Syringes make the window noticeably larger and easier to hit consistently. Prioritize attack speed in the early game when the reload timing feels too tight.
Supercharge commitment: Once you activate Supercharge, the weapon lockout triggers whether you fire or not - but only if you actually release the shot. If you activate it and cannot find a safe weak point shot, you can hold the charge indefinitely without penalty until you fire or the ability cooldown expires. Never fire blindly just because Supercharge is charged.
Concussion Device mobility: Two Concussion Devices chained give significant vertical height. Throw one, immediately throw the second as you land on the explosion of the first, then fire the XQR downward to extend the arc further with recoil. This is Railgunner's primary method of reaching elevated positions.
Cryocharge execute timing: Freeze an enemy with Cryocharge, then immediately hit them with any damage source (XQR, items, Ukulele proc) while they are at or below 30% HP for an instant execution. Note that Cryocharge itself does not execute - you need a separate hit to trigger the execution.
Railgunner is immediately available with the Survivors of the Void DLC. No challenge required. Three challenges unlock alternate skill options: HH44 Marksman (Marksman challenge), Polar Field Device (Annihilator challenge), and Cryocharge (Trickshot challenge).
Magnetic Accelerator converts all Critical Strike Chance into Critical Strike Damage at a 1:1 ratio. Railgunner cannot crit through normal means - only by hitting enemy Weak Points during a scoped shot. This means crit chance items like Lens-Maker's Glasses and Laser Scope give her bonus crit damage instead of a random crit chance that she cannot use.
After firing M99 Sniper, an Active Reload bar appears. If you press the fire key again while the bar is in the perfect zone, the reload completes faster and adds +500% damage to your next shot. This bonus applies to both M99 shots and Supercharge if M99 was active when you charged it.
M99 has higher burst potential - 1000% plus the +500% active reload bonus - and is stronger for boss fights. HH44 fires faster with no reload requirement, making it more forgiving and better for clearing groups of smaller enemies. Both reveal weak points. Most players start with M99 and switch to HH44 if the reload timing feels frustrating.
Stack Lens-Maker's Glasses for crit damage conversion, Laser Scope for another flat +100% crit damage, Crowbar for bonus damage on full-HP enemies, and Kjaro's and Runald's Bands for proc damage on every high-damage shot. Soldier's Syringe improves active reload timing and Supercharge windup speed. 57 Leaf Clover increases Band proc frequency.
