Two errors in the in-game description

1) The radius is listed as 8m but the actual radius is 15m (confirmed wrong per wiki). 2) The damage description says 5% max HP to self and 2.5% to allies, but does not account for the game engine halving all friendly-fire damage. The true numbers per second are 2.5% to self, 1.25% to allies, and 120% to enemies.

Surviving Your Own Flames

Planula Planula is the best self-healing counter. Heals 15 HP on every damage tick. 5 Tincture ticks per second = 75 HP/s healing from Planula. At 2+ stacks you outpace self-burn entirely.
Leeching Seed Razorwire + Leeching Seed creates a healing loop. Razorwire fires 5 times per second from self-burn ticks. Each Razorwire burst can hit multiple targets. Each hit heals via Leeching Seed. The self-burn powers the healing.
Repulsion Armor Plate Repulsion Armor Plate reduces every tick by 5 flat damage. 5 ticks per second = 25 HP saved per second. Stack multiples for meaningful reduction.
Max HP items increase enemy damage AND survival buffer. Titanic Knurl, Infusion, and similar HP items increase both the damage Tincture deals to enemies and your total HP pool to absorb self-burn. More HP is directly better for this item.
Keep allies out of range. Allies and drones take 1.25% of your max HP per second from Tincture. In single-player this is not a concern, but multiplayer and Engineer turrets can die quickly from the sustained 15m burn aura.
Gesture Fuel Cell Gesture + 4 Fuel Cells = permanent uptime. Base 45s CD. With sufficient CDR the Tincture re-fires before the 12s effect + 3s linger expires. Permanent 120% max HP/s enemy damage with no downtime.
