Artifact of Delusion

Risk your items after completing the teleporter event in a test of memory to gain more items. After every teleporter event, all opened chests reset and close. Reopen them for free - but you must pass a memory test. Pick the correct item (what dropped from that chest) from a panel of three choices. Right answer: free copy of that item. Wrong answer: lose a stack of the incorrectly chosen item from your inventory.

How the Memory Game Works

Open chests and complete the Teleporter Event normally. Remember which item came from which chest - or at least the ones you want to duplicate.

After the event ends, all eligible chests close and reset. They are free to reopen - no gold cost.

Interact with a reset chest. A "Remember..." panel appears showing 3 items: one is the correct item that dropped, two are random items from your inventory.

Correct guess: You receive a free copy of that item. Wrong guess: You lose a stack of whichever wrong item you selected. The chest is gone either way.

The Correct Answer May Not Be What You Think

The correct answer is whatever item was LAST picked up from that chest's drop. With Command, it's whatever you chose. With a Recycler, it's the recycled result. With Sale Star giving multiple drops, it's whichever of those drops you picked up most recently - each pickup overwrites the previous answer.

Chests reset not just after Teleporter Events. They also reset after defeating the Artifact Reliquary in Bulwark's Ambry, and after every 5th wave in Simulacrum. The Verdant Falls guaranteed Large Chest/Scrapper spot can still spawn a Scrapper when Delusion is active.

Offer a strong item to a Lemurian Egg before the teleporter event. After the event, get a reset on that chest - a free copy of whatever strong item was in it. Doubles valuable item gains.

Delusion + Sacrifice
Delusion + Sacrifice

No chests spawn with Sacrifice - so Delusion has nothing to reset. These two artifacts directly conflict. Do not run them together.

Delusion + Glass
Delusion + Glass

5x damage means teleporter events end fast. More time to visit reset chests. Glass + Delusion doubles item income on stages where you survive long enough to collect.

Strong net-positive modifier. Every stage gives free copies of items you already picked up if you remember correctly. Low risk, consistent extra items. Good for learning item icons.

Delusion + Swarms

More enemies killed = faster teleporter clear = more time for reset chests. Swarms also does not remove chests, so Delusion has full reset value.

Tips

Only remember the chests that matter. You don't need perfect memory for all chests - focus on the rarest items you picked up. White chest drops aren't worth the risk of a wrong guess. Red and yellow chests are.
Leave loot on the ground. An item sitting on the ground has NOT been picked up yet. The correct answer for that chest is still its original drop. Pick it up only when you're ready to lock in the answer.
Use Recycler before the teleporter event. Recycle a white chest item into a green before the event. After the reset, the correct answer is the green item - a free uncommon from a common chest.
Don't guess on unfamiliar items. If you can't identify the correct item from the three choices, skip that chest. A wrong guess costs you an existing item from your inventory, which is often worse than getting nothing.
Sacrifice directly conflicts. No chests spawn with Sacrifice active. Delusion has nothing to reset. Never run both together.
Multiplayer coordination matters. In co-op, any player can interact with reset chests. Communicate who remembers which chest to avoid multiple players guessing wrong on the same chest.
