Beads of Fealty Risk of Rain 2

Beads of Fealty

"Seems to do nothing... but..." Beads of Fealty is a lunar item with no combat effect whatsoever. Its only function: when any player holding it obliterates at the Obelisk in A Moment, Fractured, the entire team is transported to A Moment, Whole instead of ending the run. There you fight one of four Twisted Scavengers for 10 Lunar Coins. Stacking beyond one does nothing. It is the only item in the game with completely no stat effect of any kind.

A Moment, Whole

A Moment Whole RoR2

A bleak hidden realm - the refuge of the Twisted Scavengers. One of four Twisted Scavengers waits at the center. Defeat it and loot its sack before the screen fully darkens to collect 10 Lunar Coins. Defeating the Scavenger counts as obliterating (completing mastery challenges on Monsoon). Dying does not.

The Four Twisted Scavengers

Twisted Scavenger RoR2

One of the four is randomly selected each visit. All carry preset item and equipment loadouts - they are significantly stronger than regular Scavengers. Their sack drops Scavenger Sack 10 Lunar Coins on death.

Wipwip the Wild4,845 (+1454/lvl)Highest HP of all four. Significantly more dangerous.

Lunar Item Synergies

Beads of Fealty is the safest lunar item to carry since it has zero downside. Here's how it compares to the items you'd typically weigh it against.

Cleansing Pool
Cleansing Pool
Trade any lunar item for a random green item. Beads of Fealty are ideal fodder here - no downside to lose, and you gain a green item. Always prioritize sacrificing more harmful lunars first.
Shaped Glass
Shaped Glass
The most dangerous lunar - halves your max HP per stack. Always sacrifice Shaped Glass at Cleansing Pools before Beads. Beads should be your last lunar to give up.
Gesture of the Drowned
Gesture of the Drowned
Reduces equipment cooldown to 0 but removes manual activation. Can be catastrophic with the wrong equipment. Beads are far safer to carry alongside any equipment.
Purity
Purity
Reduces all skill cooldowns by 2 per stack but makes all random effects unfavorable. Beads are neutral by comparison - carrying both is fine since Beads don't interact with luck at all.

Tips

Only one player needs Beads. The whole team is transported. In multiplayer, designate one player to hold Beads and everyone else avoids picking them up to save the lunar item slot.
Collect the coins fast. After the Twisted Scavenger dies, its sack drops 10 Lunar Coins. The screen fades to black quickly. Run to the sack immediately on the kill and pick them up before the screen goes fully dark.
Wipwip the Wild is the most dangerous. At nearly 5,000 HP base, Wipwip is a significantly harder fight than the other three. If your run isn't strong, playing cautiously matters more against Wipwip than the others.
Use extra Beads stacks as Cleansing Pool fodder. If you accidentally pick up a second Beads, it has zero effect. Take it to a Cleansing Pool and exchange it for a green item - completely safe trade with no risk.
Beads don't work in Eclipse or Simulacrum. Celestial Orbs don't spawn in either mode, so A Moment, Fractured is inaccessible. Beads will sit in your inventory doing nothing in these modes.
Mastery on Monsoon: defeat the Scavenger. Every survivor has a Mastery challenge requiring obliteration on Monsoon. Using Beads routes you through A Moment, Whole - defeating the Scavenger still completes the challenge. Dying does not.
